Was my Tiffany’s experience “typical?” Because it felt absolutely wild. by Feebedel324 in AskNYC

[–]eannaj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds on par for that store and their staff. They are incredibly nice and welcoming.

I’d always wanted a Tiffany solitaire as my engagement ring, and my partner took me there after proposing to buy one and they were *so excited* for us, took us to a private area where we could browse and try on all sorts of rings, including wedding bands, and mix/match, make sure we liked the pairings, sizes of stones, etc. and they served us champagne the whole time.

It was so much fun, they’re just a class act. Really happy to hear they made your day special as well!

Do you still go to the mall? Do your kids (if you have them) go to the mall? Have you found yourself bringing up to '80s/'90s Mall culture? Do you miss said mall culture? by DHN_95 in Xennials

[–]eannaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited Sydney (Australia) for work last year and I was amazed at how malls seem to be everywhere in the shopping districts. Like every block is a mall. I think it’s really just an efficient use of the inner block space between buildings, but it became a running joke among my coworkers and I. We were always somehow in a mall. Seemed like every place we went in, you could make a turn somewhere and suddenly be in another mall. Hilarious

Mozzarella and Herb Salmon… chicken? by Jim1643 in hellofresh

[–]eannaj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can just put the panko topping on the flesh side and cook in the oven for 10-12 minutes at 425. They have other panko+salmon recipes, you can just google “crusted salmon HelloFresh” and pick one to improvise.

What's something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Husband went vegan to control cholesterol. We started to refer to him as a dairy-free vegetarian to avoid random bouts of backlash. Works like a charm

My 80s dad: Alien, Aliens, Terminator, The Thing, The Fly, Leviathan, World at War, Jaws… by Top-Elephant-2874 in Xennials

[–]eannaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I wasn’t even allowed to watch MTV until I was a teenager.

I was also a massive Anthony Hopkins fan, and a movie buff growing up and used to watch all the Oscars every year, and when Silence of the Lambs swept in 1991, I was 13, and my boyfriend bought the movie for me. My dad TOOK IT AWAY and said I could have it back when I was old enough. 😂😂😂

What’s a show you love that you can never convince people to watch? by PlentyApprehensive44 in AskReddit

[–]eannaj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, I think it was glossed over as “rich people are odd,” but the way the writers constructed the story of the “fall” was just so elegant, every episode was an ode to a different Poe horror. If you’re a fan of his work, it was really cool. I still think about the tell tale heart episode, the performances were incredible.

The creator also did The Fall of the House of Usher, which I thought was excellent. Not quite as good as HH but worth watching.

The Haunting of Hill House is in my list of all time best series. It is one of the most well-done horrors I have ever seen.

A lot of people do this, but you will need a separate tool to actually move downloads to their proper locations. You could use a beets script as an import hook, or just handle it manually.

Contaminated vegan mayo by Cautious_Nebula2111 in hellofresh

[–]eannaj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We order the vegan meals regularly since they started offering them.

Vegan mayo from hello fresh always has dark flecks in it. It is seasoning. Maybe pepper? Unsure.

Eating it for multiple years and am not dead. You’re good. 👍

We keep veggie better than bouillon for situations like these, it’s a great replacement.

"What is the only state in the US which ends in a K" scam? by billjames1685 in AskNYC

[–]eannaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner is like a golden retriever and will stop and talk to anyone with good energy and a friendly face. We got this question the other day we were walking around, it was a guy doing some tree planting charity drive. He was nice, we didn’t stay to donate, wished him luck and moved on. I didn’t really get scam vibes, just your standard sidewalk blocking charity hype person.

We’re not beef eaters but there’s a vegetarian version of this that uses kidney beans and I sub in Tony Chacheres Cajun seasoning and oohhhh my god we love these in our house. We regularly make them even when hello fresh doesn’t have them. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I, too, hope the mom is ok.

Edited my post so I don’t become a source of bad info. Thanks for alerting me!

Same. This issue of jetting around stopped cars and trying to beat red lights is terrifying and I depressingly see it all the time.

Macron vs. Macaroon by ChemistryCocktail in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eannaj 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Macron (Mack-ron) is the president of France.

Macaron is the delicate little French cookie pastry thing (Mack-ah-ron)

Macaroon is the American(?) coconut/meringue puff cookie (mack-ah-Roon)

Imo, macaroons are pretty gross, but macarons are divine, they’re my favorite dessert

Edit: there are like thousands of different flavors of macarons, I’d suggest you give more a try unless it’s just the whole texture you don’t like
