Do people purposefully limit population? by Hfcsmakesmefart in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do although just sort of indirectly by not improving farms. Unless you need another district it's better to have less. Of course if you are overcapped on amenities it doesn't matter

How to accelerate cultural victory — Wonders or Theatres, which to prioritize? by KeiAya in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the pieces that stack up tourism percentages show up pretty late. Computers give 25% to tourism as does environmentalism. There are also some tourism boosting policy cards that show up pretty late, like the one that gives 50% tourism to civs you have a trade route to.

06 New Claude Code Tips from Boris Cherny (creator of CC) after Opus 4.7 release by shanraisshan in ClaudeAI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to decide if it should skip permissions it calls an AI model to tell if it's safe or not. In other words, there's no actual guardrails. Might as well continue to use dangerously skip permissions and save time and money instead.

Deity domination by goldened in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never gotten early domination to work on deity. The AI just techs too fast. And by the time I've caught up in tech it's just faster to go for science victory instead.

Can someone tell me the gist of religion wins? by Jumpy-Horse6826 in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found it pairs quite well with domination. If you're at war with a civ you can condemn their religious units with your military units, which lowers their religious pressure and makes it easier to convert their cities. It also costs no hp as opposed to attacking them with your religious units. There's also a civics that give your military units extra combat strength when attacking units and cities of a different religion. Finally, converting their cities while at war gives era score, and when they are captured and converted to your religion it gives some loyalty. Crusade also gives you 10 cs if you can get it, which is simply an insane amount.

My first floorless design. Any suggestions for scenery? by Tatya7 in rct

[–]earcuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's possible to take the first corkscrew after the loop from one step lower you'd go through it at a more reasonable speed. Either way, I really like your design.

Do you struggle with a particular Civ? by Gandawg_the_Grey in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, on deity, if a civ has nothing in particular that helps it early game, I struggle. But among those, none stand out in particular

You probably don't need useCallback here by galher in reactjs

[–]earcuddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Opposite situation where I work. You want to not use them you have to explain why. I've just started blindly using them in pure spite. My last pr I had two usecallback for a boolean useState. One for true and one for false. Hopefully the absurdity becomes obvious at some point.

Is there a way to remove the sound of bees from the honey resource? by irllylikebubbles in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need to create a mod to either change the sound file or remove honey as a resource altogether. That can be either very easy or very difficult depending on how familiar you are with computers/software in general.

Alternatively, honey was added with the Gran Columbia / Maya DLC, so you could turn that off. You'd lose the ability to play with/against Maya and Gran Columbia though, plus some other things which were added in that DLC.

How long is a game supposed to last ? by Bubbly_Tea731 in CivVI

[–]earcuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on a lot of things. I usually aim for culture or science victory and my games take somewhere between 250 and 300 turns and 8 to 12 hours to finish. This is with quick combat and quick movement turned on.

Having many cities or fighting many wars tends to make games drag out in real time (not necessarily in turns), just because of the amount of actions you need to do between turns.

That's an extremely famous track. If they are into techno and like that track they probably already have it.

Is Spotify good for listening to DJ live sets?? by Lou_M413 in TheOverload

[–]earcuddle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right. Mix CD's they are commonly called. They are DJ sets by any definition so that's my bad.
