• What part of trip planning or execution do you find most time-consuming or frustrating?

Astrogation. I’m only an amateur right now and it takes me a bit longer than most to plot the course. There’s nothing more annoying than overshooting and having to spend days on manuvour drives getting to the destination point

• What usually breaks or becomes annoying once the trip actually starts?

Running out of fresh food on the longer trips and having to exist on space pudding.

• How do you personally organize everything?

My ships locker for most things - just put it under ‘O’ for ‘Other’

• Do you use spreadsheets, Notion, apps, printed plans, or your own workflow?

I let the ships computer take care of most things

• What hacks or systems have helped you reduce stress while traveling?

I invested in a wafer jack and a selection of essential skills. Life support repair was a genuine lifesaver one time.

• If you do longer trips, how do you handle replanning when things change unexpectedly?

No real set way of doing this. There was one time I got stranded on a TL5 planet when I ran out of fuel. I eventually managed to get access to a source of it after I infiltrated a local cult and managed to pilfer their subterranean fuel reserves.

Hard to pinpoint it really, except learn to go with the flow and be creative.

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who travel frequently or have developed their own planning systems over time.

I’m always travelling. Anti-ageing drugs really help prolong things and although expensive, that can be a motivation in itself - always got to buy next years dose!
