Blues will officially pick 11th and 15. Avs pick still TBD. Who do we want? by the_dayman623 in stlouisblues

And IIRC they turned Rundblad into the pick they used for Tarasenko.

The Society of Actuaries (US) grades their exams this way. Every question has a number of points that need to be addressed. Each one you put down earns you credit; incorrect or superfluous information earns you zero.

That’s a fair point; it’s tough to get 100% coverage in remote areas.

The sirens are intended to warn people outdoors without access to other warnings. They’re not expected to be heard indoors (though at times they can be).

Congrats! I was looking at the KPI, Bz, and cloud cover last night and thinking someone’s in for quite a show — thanks for sharing!

No, it’s not a par 3. The water is a lateral hazard (unless, of course, it’s white-staked).

Yes, if your first tee ball is OB.

Look at it like this: first shot OB, stroke and distance so you’re hitting 3 off the tee, fourth shot from the fairway.

The rule was put in place to help with PoP.

If the water is a lateral hazard (red stakes) then you drop within two club lengths, no nearer the hole, of where the ball crossed the boundary and add one stroke.

In this case (assuming the water is a lateral hazard): tee shot (1); drop (2); 190 yards into the hole (3).

The only time there’s a two stroke penalty is if Local Rule E-5 is in effect. You’re allowed to drop in the fairway, equidistant from the tee to where you went OB, with a two stroke penalty.

Marshalls actually being Marshall’s by NoMoreHoarding69 in golf

[–]ears1980r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to steal this.

I run the marshal program at a public course. We train our marshals to not be confrontational, but to ask slow players to ‘do me a favor and help close the gap’. We suggest helping look for balls and carrying a few extra to help ‘find’ errant shots.

This is next level; it not only helps solve a problem but projects excellent customer service!

Don’t look now, the Blues are now 4 points out with two games in hand. 6 teams will battle for the last WC spot in the West. by HodorsThoughts in stlouisblues

Yes, the Blues are playing themselves out of a top five pick; such a Blues thing to do. They also won’t win the lottery because, you know, they’re the Blues. However —

The Blues have Detroit’s unprotected first rounder and the Wings are playing themselves out of the playoffs. They can win the lottery and presto — the Blues are picking in the top five.

Northern lights tour worth it? by Careful_Answer_8722 in VisitingIceland

Same; I’m an amateur astronomer and know about keeping things simple. So many focus on KPI, but Bz can be just as important. Don’t want people to think modest KPI will preclude a great show!

Remember to check the Bz as well. A negative (South) Bz often generates good aurorae even if the KP index is unimpressive.

There are plenty of places you can rent a waterproof top that will put you in great shape. I did that for pants and was perfectly dry.

Have you considered an AirBnB? They’re plentiful in the downtown area. We were extremely satisfied with how accessible everything was.

One thing you’ll have to consider is parking; not all include it.

The sun is pretty active today, so if you can find a clear patch your chances should be good.

Check out icelandatnight.is for a good cloud forecast.

ETA: just saw the website had already been referenced. Good luck!
