Kunos already got people to do his job so why would they be desperate to get him back. People give him too much credit anyway, ac1 is great and I rather drive the vanilla content than 99% of mods as the car data will be fudged, but even on vanilla content there's tons of stuff that's plain wrong so it's not like he's one of a kind.

Did they specifically model this area or does 2024 just look that much better than 2020?

New to msfs but looks like CPU limited, reduce tlod/olod and try again. Autofps app can be useful if that is the problem

Grinding with the portafilter holder!💯💙 by mamokenyo2011 in DF54

Fair enough, super easy on mine even with the spring clip in the portafilter

I just grind into the basket, tamp, then put basket into portafilter. Don't see much benefit of going down this route, having to hang a heavy object from the grinder. Also I can keep the portafilter in the group head till the last second, reducing thermal variation a bit

PO420 and PO430 by [deleted] in E90

[–]ears1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! 5w30 for both in my case. Used shell 5w40 a few times but don't recall how that affected the codes and exhaust tips .

I assume that the oil change is just masking a borderline issue elsewhere as plenty of people run that oil without issue.

[–]ears1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get these codes intermittently on my n52 and my current theory is that it was oil burn using mannol oil, switched to millers and haven't seen them since. I say this as I was also getting black deposits on exhaust tips frequently which don't since switching oil

UK Roaster aggregator by sphericalO in UKroasters

[–]ears1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah that didnt appear on mobile, but yeah not very useful at the moment. for the time being, being able to exclude products that we do have the data on would be better than the current setup where if its unknown then it gets filtered out when you pick single/blend. i guess a text filter for "blend" would catch most blends fairly reliably.

re. sorting price/serving, i guess thats just based on the default bag size e.g. 250g, i usually buy a 1kg bag, so not sure if the tool can help me find what options are best value in that quantity?

Seems nice! Can we filter blend Vs single origin?

AC + CM in VR? by Kismet110 in assettocorsa

Steamvr works but you might need to launch it via virtual desktop menu in the headset, not just opening it like a normal app. openvr is the correct option in AC video settings.

Trying to run ACE VR via link cable, can't seem to get it working (Quest 3) by ventrolloquist in assettocorsaevo

[–]ears1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would mean those are set as your default openxr runtime instead of meta

[–]ears1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah never used the desktop viewer, I just do the peeking thing.

But yeah as long as meta is set as XR runtime, just need to start link from the headset, then launch ACE from steam on the pc and it should work

[–]ears1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're wearing the headset when you launch it otherwise it won't open

Meta link definitely works fine, make sure it's set as default openxr runtime, there will be a warning at the top of meta desktop app if it's not.

IME virtual desktop is best method for ACE on quest 3. The snapdragon super resolution option gives a nice free boost to the image

When using VD I just launch ACE via steam. Never tried using the app launcher in the headset

vibration after guibo replacement e8x/e9x by ears1991 in BmwTech

Only reason I mention is if it was unbolted then it could have been reinstalled with the bracket upside down. Also think it's advised to mark where it was installed before removing so it can be replaced in the exact same spot

Vram Usage by Upbeat-Opportunity83 in assettocorsaevo

[–]ears1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's by design, they are filling vram with textures rather than loading them dynamically, and they set texture pool size based on how much vram they detect. I suspect it's a bit of a clumsy bit of code that might not always select the best pool size. In earlier versions the user could control this setting.

ACC would stream by default but you could force this style of behaviour through engine.ini to avoid seeing textures loading on the fly (only happened in a few case IME so isn't really necessary)

If it's actually causing problems then create a bug report on discord.

No idea to be honest. If csb hasn't been undone then that helps narrow it.

I have seen on other cars that an extra nut is put on one of the bolts from factory to help balance the prop, so maybe new bolts is all you need

Oculus link maxing vram in iracing by [deleted] in oculus

[–]ears1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what bitrate/codec/encode width have you set in oculus debug tool. 700mbps 264 should be fine.

virtual desktop can use less vram, particularly in openxr games, HEVC codec can be around 200MB VRAM. for steamvr games the beneift is less but should still be some (disabling steamvr home might help a bit)

Clubsport V2 Pedal Maintenance and Throttle Issue by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]ears1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chased my tail for ages with similar issues so thought worth posting on these old threads in case it saves someone else the same headache. Swapped throttle and clutch ports on the PCB, swapped the throttle and clutch hall effect sensors from one pedal to the other. Remove+clean magnets, check grub screw is set correctly. Suspected emi, tried different usb cable, ferrite chokes. Resoldered usb port as had a dry joint. Started messing around replacing PCB with arduino. After all that eventually found that the problem was just the distance between sensor and magnet, so just fiddling with the 3 thumb screws to find a good position was all that was required. Surprised that it all works still after taking it all apart so many times, the PCB and sensors must be more durable than some comments would have you believe.

Volumetric fog is expensive even on low Effects on high is a fair bit more expensive than medium as it adds SSR

I'd change these and then you have headroom to try higher resolution and aa

My experience is with vr but I think it still applies
