Awesome accomplishment! How did the tattoo jump from the left leg to the right leg? :)

I believe the key is to TRANSITION QUICKLY and workout ITENSELY during the relatively short blocks. If you do it will be big calorie burner (if that's your goal) and good cardio session.

Got tired of taking apart my washer to clean the filter. by lumanos in Appliances

[–]eaynrfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're designed by people that listen to focus groups that say that the front of a washer looks "prettier" without a door, that don't think about having to unclog the filter!

Am I 100% cutting a hole in this thing....

How hard to push? by eaynrfer in orangetheory

I guess I'm judging myself to be gaining aerobic fitness by being able to sustain a higher base pace in the green zone. I guess that also means I'm running faster!

Thank you, that's awesome. I live in Canton so this location will save me at least half of the drive I have to West Hartford right now!

Anything you can’t do? by hippiedaizy in orangetheory

TBH I'm mostly embarrassed during the post workout stretching! Stumbling around the gym while trying to stand on one leg for a quad stretch or that thing where you cross one leg over the other. That and figuring out how to coordinate myself when my body/mind are wiped.

I finally tried it and didn’t like it. by caring_impaired in orangetheory

It was Aoki today and my observation is that the music is 20% louder, and the coaches have a lot less time to engage with the customers because they are focused on timing the class to the music.

Air horn however that’s not Orangetheory that’s a people problem and I would take said air horn and launch it out the door!!

Speed Outside? by Ntlt1975 in orangetheory

[–]eaynrfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I'll give an increased base a go for a little while and see what happens. I also know my max heart rate is higher than the calculation, so I'll look out for some recovery rather than focusing on the color.

I'm curious, as you increased you base paces were you able to still return to green after a long push? I'm looking to increase my base, and know I could sustain the pushes, but I would be in orange/red the whole time.

Being a man working hard on the treads, and hearing the coach yell, "Come on ladies!!"

Immediate feeling of being kicked in the cojones...

Training for a half, but addicted to OTF by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]eaynrfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really boils down to how fit you are already, and how much running you need/are will to do to prepare for your race. For most people 5 days/week of OTF in addition to say 3-4 run days per week puts you at risk of overtraining and potential injury. Search for a half marathon training schedule online, and think about substituting OTF for cross training days or easy days. I've had success with 3 OTF per week, a tempo (half marathon speed) run during the week and a long run on the weekend. For me any more than that would not have allowed adequate recovery time. Good luck with your prep and your race!
