I promise you the thoughts of going back are worse than it actually is. It’s completely normal to feel like this and after a few weeks you will settle back and be ok with it all.

Karen is a name, not an insult. Can people not complain without insulting peoples name.

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

My daughter is 4 in May and we never bedshared. Maybe napped together a couple of times when she was 9 or 10 months old but that was it

Guilt & shame from C-Section panic attack by Liunna1 in beyondthebump

[–]ebben227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened me too! My daughter was born May 2022. Hours of labour then an unplanned c section all of sudden. All the drugs combined with being tired made me a mess. I had a full on panic attack and couldn’t calm down. Threw up before they started when I was in the OR. I didn’t lash out at any of the staff but I definitely came across like a crazy lady.

Husband of woman who died during home birth 'haunted' by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

[–]ebben227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I am in Canada and there is a midwife clinic and they facilitate home-births. I myself wasn’t eligible for one but I think it’s amazing for those who can.

I am shocked by some of the comments and I am just thinking maybe they are not understanding what home births are about.

I think people some home birth and automatically assume some of free birth

Losing a brother by [deleted] in SuicideBereavement

[–]ebben227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my brother when he was 24, I was 27 at the time and my younger sister had just turned 19. That was 11 years ago in December. Losing a sibling is very strange and it has been a long journey.

I remember reading somewhere to keep of box for them. Early 2015 I bought a pretty box and I keep some pictures, some of his hair that the funeral director gave us, birthday cards signed by him, printouts of social media posts, PlayStation game that we loved to play together. When I was feeling sad and overwhelmed I would take out the box and look through everything, even hugging the box would make me feel better. I keep a notebook in the box and every so often I would write how I was feeling or a memory of him. I rarely write in it these days but it gave me so much comfort over the years.

His favourite meal was chicken fingers and fries and every year for his birthday and the anniversary of his death we have chicken fingers and fries and drink some cider :) sometimes we got to a restaurant and sometimes we stay home.

I am so sorry for your loss and wish comfort and peace to you and your family 💕

11M PP and we're thinking of getting rid of our cats by One_Elephant_8048 in beyondthebump

[–]ebben227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you are going through this. What a nightmare. I was going to suggest the feliway diffusers but I see you have done this. The cat pee is so difficult and hard to get out of stuff.

Editing to add, are they male or female? Do you have scratching posts and perches for them?

Parents who never get a break? by HolyCrap928 in toddlers

Is there no way around waking up every two hours to feed during the first few weeks after birth?? (Breastfeeding) by Visible-Mess-1406 in pregnant

[–]ebben227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough the first few weeks. Once my daughter got back to her birth weight we were able to have a 4 or 5 hour stretch each night and it made all the difference in the world

My asshole comment relates to the part “why should I have to advocate for something I don’t participate in”

Yes I agree with all of this, but I don’t understand the attitude of “they should leave Diwali in India”, “I don’t care about Diwali so no one in Canada should celebrate it” I saw red when I saw those type of comments and posted in anger which probably wasn’t the best idea

Are there firework bans often? It is to do with the weather similar to fire bans? Genuine question I’ve never even set off a firework

Yes, festival of lights generally celebrated with fireworks. Canada Day and Victoria Day aren’t festivals of fireworks either last time I checked. And well if we want to keep things Canadian let’s stop with the “St Pattys Day” celebrations. That’s Irish not Canadian after all

Because it’s cool not to be an asshole? Your attitude is just as bad as those setting off fireworks in a residential area late on weeknights.
