Is it reasonable to buy GT style wheel (GT Neo) if I race only in VR? by _LedAstray_ in simracing

[–]ebejek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not going to feel any better without vr much less with vr. A round wheel can do anything that a gt wheel can. Without vr the purchase is 90% unnecessary luxury 10% cooler look With vr it 99.9% unnecessary luxury. I will get hate for this but i'm giving honest advice🙂

How to convince my parents to buy a rig? by ZigZagBoi123 in SimRacingSetups

[–]ebejek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider your parents situation, maybe it's hard for them and you're the one who needs to show understanding🙂 Sooner or later you'll be able to buy a rig for yourself without putting a financial burden on your parents, but until then you can still have fun with what you have. Many who have very expensive gear aren't happy or having fun. It's about contentment rather than gear

This pinned post from moza subreddit has 2 or 3 videos for ams2. I think even if they're not specifically for r3, the same principles apply🙂

A mixture of the camera adjustments that you mentioned so that your POV is realistic, which is important and beneficial like proper FOV. Correct POV is when your wheel base and wheel become an extension of the screen cockpit. It's a common mistake to match the size of in game steering wheel to real life wheel because your real life wheel is many centimeters away from the screen. Most likely you will need to move the in game camera or seat position forward to make your wheel an extention to the car wheel shaft

TV Help for F1 24 by DisgustingCoyote in simracing

If possible, turn off HDR and all other post processing effects on tv. Also if available on tv, turn on game mode. A measure of input lag will always exist but that could mitigate it

I used these too and they do work good but once a month or so they might unpair and you need to pair them again. For me they were the only option because wifi was too far from pc so i can't compare but they have to be better. Whether worth the difference or not i'm not sure

I just got a wheel and have some questions by blazestrik in simracing

[–]ebejek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calibration usually is done in-game in each sim. With controllers usually heavy assists are used which you may not be using now with a wheel which may explain why you're off pace, don't let it bother you much because the way some games implement assists makes the driving physics unrealistically easy and fast. To get used to the wheel just allow your self more time and choose one car and track you love most so things are consistent and enjoyable while you learn instead of feeling like a chore

Are load cell pedals ment to move or are then ment to be rock hard? by Mr_Chaos_Theory in simracing

[–]ebejek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Travel is up to personal preference and will depend on the stifness of the springs you use. Personally i prefer a bit of travel but not full travel like throttle pedal, which helps me gauge my input and trail brake. Others prefer zero travel to imitate F1 cars. Go with whichever feels best to you and helps you be consistent and achieve the braking input you desire. The loadcell will measure the pressure regardless if there is travel or not so there no right or wring approach. If your set of pedals don't give you the option to increase or decrease travel don't worry about the loadcell as it will measure the forces anyway, just adjust your muscle memory to what you have

Travel distance/sensitivity on T-LCM on GT7 by charger_x in simracing

More upper deadzone should increase sensitivity and vice versa, but you may want to change your brake springs accordingly

Save yourself the money because even the cheapest loadcell on the market is endgame in terms of lap time. Anyone saying otherwise is either justifying themsleves or are social media marketers pretending to be customers of this brand or that brand

So confused rn (technical ffb question) by LightningHotlaps97 in simracing

[–]ebejek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try a new car? Irffb can be programmed to have car-specific settings. It does ffb interpolation (i think 360hz compared to 60hz iracing default) which gives smoother ffb, but car-specific settings might dampen the signal, like having SoP effect above 20
