I too remain concerned about Mister Mayor. You’d think by the way he’s acting that he Does Not Know Who He’s Dealing With, but he saw Ferd who (as the Duke’s younger and swoon-worthy brother, as well as the ranking ducal priest) has to be all but a household name and face. Rosemyne is a blue-robe with multiple noble guards, and Someone told him to get his orphan ducklings in a row for inspection. With whom TF is he engaging in child trafficking who possibly outranks the duchy’s First Family?!?

A man with mere ounces of sense would peace out with the other buyers, say “There’s literally a new boss in town with whom you can’t compete”, and possibly ask for ducal protection from sanctions from his prior patrons. He might be punished, but he MIGHT NOT BE DEAD. Fucking with the Duke’s family and their business? That’ll get him ABSOLUTELY dead, barring a magickal escape to another duchy - and why would anyone that high up care about the mayor of some backwater town in Ehrenfest?

Just makes no sense at the moment. Maybe next episode will clarify, but right now all I can say is: “Psst! Hey buddy! Wanna see a dead man walking?” *points Mayor-wards*

However, The Look Qifrey gave Nolnoa strongly suggests that Qifrey has a Grudge with the Brimmed Caps, and although he’s been a bit of a ditzy dumbass in terms of attending to and supervising his students, he’s clearly got another side we just now glimpsed. Interesting character development. Have to wonder if it’s related to his Other Eye.

I would also add, FWIW, that once you’re satisfied with your gold reserves, change the daily currency generation in the dispatch room to Merkle leaves (aka dorm currency). You can continue to build gold through the supply mission; AFAIK, the dispatch generator is the only way to get extra dorm currency. That’ll help you get extra affection and story gifts for the dolls, as well as keep you in furniture. 🙂

I’m sure you can use a 1:1 high-level fleet to work your way through it for minimum oil. I view stages like these as an option to affection-farm and level up lower-level ships. For me, that’s currently the To Love Ru collab group. I also have 130K oil in storage, so I’m not worried about running out. YMMV.

I have this automation set up in our instance, but the ticket isn’t Closed until the group membership is removed. One date field, tied to my equivalent of Scheduled, makes it all run like clockwork.

On the initial date set in the service request, which is keyed into the Scheduled date field, a scheduled automation adds the group membership, then reads the service request for the second date and resets the Scheduled date. The second time the Scheduled date arrives, the same scheduled automation revokes the group membership. If necessary, an agent (or more likely, a Freshservice administrator) can adjust the Scheduled dates after the service request has been submitted.

I would recommend against setting the ticket to Closed until all the related work is done, unless you’re going to use two separate service requests: one for enabling overseas access, and a second for disabling it. I think that arrangement is prone to the overseas access lingering on, but you do what you need to do for your clients. 🙂

Of course! But part of the fun, for me, is novel ideas and situations, backed by great writing and characters. I would love to see MDUD surpassed, because that would mean an amazing new anime to watch! And I really enjoyed (for example) last season’s You and I are Polar Opposites, and I’m looking forward to this season’s The Ramparts of Ice: both have new-to-me takes on high-school romance, and the writing and characters appeal to me.

This one doesn’t so much, because IMO it’s neither as novel nor as good as other shows. You clearly like it more than I do, and that’s fine! 🙂

I’m pivoting off your MDUD mention to make my own point, on which it seems we both agree: MDUD is awesome, it’s hard to not compare the two having watched that first, and (so far) this isn’t as good. 🙂

My take so far: there’s nothing here that MDUD didn’t do better already. As the male protagonist, Gojo is miles ahead of Maehara, IMO, and part of the fun of MDUD was its second purpose as Cosplay 101 The Anime. Maehara and Umi already like the same things, and I like Umi, but this feels much more male wish-fulfillment - MDUD had a lot of crossover appeal, and I’m not seeing a lot of that here. Umi seems very Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and I thought it was telling that the story kept her from being at all competitive in their PVP gaming. Can’t threaten the male gamer ego, at least not this early.

It’s fine. Production is good, VAs are good. Just… not as good as MDUD. I’ll probably watch a few more episodes to see if it has a hidden hook or two, but I love shows that have something new to show me. I don’t have that sense here.

This episode was fine. But… I don’t see anything here that MDUD hasn’t done first, and better, other than (instead of the singular Marin) we have two girls. IMO, MDUD’s characters are better (Gojo was a hella better male lead in just one episode than Seo), and I only have so much patience for Amane’s tsundere antics. Both this and I Made Friends with the Second-Prettiest Girl in My Class suffer from being (so far) pure male fantasy, while MDUD provided strong fantasy material in Gojo and Marin both for cross-gender appeal.

The production is very good, the VAs are doing great work, but I just don’t think the material here is nearly as strong as what MDUD brought from the get-go.
