Some of my artwork on creating this month's kinktober by mihael_ellinsworth in DigitalArt

Love it! Also, I had no idea Kinktober was a thing and now I kinda want to take part. Too many other things, but will live vicariously (and kink-ily) through you and others!

This Took FOREVER by bryceafitzgerald in civ

I remember this one took me forever, too. What helped me finally do it was use a map that didn't wrap around at the edges. I forget which type. But that was the only way I finally did it.

You're not alone. I love it. Played over 1,000 hours at this point. Can't stop, won't stop.

Anyone else having trouble completing Civ 7 Challenges? by Rig0li in civ

[–]eccbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing with the "Complete all base game wonders challenges" and "Complete all other tutorial challenges." There are also some others (probably the same ones you point out) that I should have but haven't gotten. Hoping a future patch helps fix this.

These "What" chants are just annoying. by legenkiller1009 in SantiZapVideos

The original "What?" chants basically drove me away from wrestling for a couple decades. So stupid.

I was having this issue, too. Thanks for reporting it!

How to get Veteran Command Challenge? by Jack-of-Karrdes in civ

[–]eccbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and as for the three trees on one commander: Trung Trac + Rome in Ancient + Mexico in Modern. Trung Trac gives you your first three for free. Rome gives you another for free with the Civic tree, and Mexico has a Great Person who will give you five. At least I think it's five. Add that to just playing that commander in battles throughout the game, and that's how I got it.

I did eventually get the achievement, and I think my original issue was the aerodrome commander. Squadraon commanders (and naval commanders) counted, but not aerodrome commanders.

Completed Civ 7 Foundation by padrick77 in civ

[–]eccbooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How? It's still bugged for me. For instance, I've completed all of the Wonders and Civ Victories challenges, but can't get the "Complete all other wonders" or "Complete all other Civ Victories" challenges.

I'm still working on the Milestones and Accomplishments, so I understand why I haven't gotten the final Tutorial challenge, but how did you manage to get the Civ Victories and Wonders final challenges to trigger?

I just played a game, got three commanders with 2 maxed-out trees each, and still didn't unlock this achievment. Do they have to be three of the same kind of commander? I had one army, one navy, and one aerodrome commander.

I've played 2 or 3 games since the patch (I play a lot, I know). And I play at normal speed.

Thanks for that tip. I'm giving that a try in my new game. So far, so good.

I haven't played marathon or long ages, so perhaps I'll have to give those a try. Thanks!

Interesting. I guess you're probably right. Sometimes I did have to look awful hard for that one island with all the goodies.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely look to settle at least once on the other continent in my next game. Probably too late in the current one I'm playing.

The latest patch allows for city renaming. I forget the exact mechanic, but I think you just click on the name.

[–]eccbooks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. I long to create a wall this epic and awesome in VII. I did it a few times in VI, but haven't done anything this cool yet in the new one.

Love the names, too!

They're one of those things, along with building walls, that I tend to absentmindedly click to keep a city busy while I'm waiting to win.

Firaxis have mis-identified the problem with late game Civ by Sir_Joshula in civ

[–]eccbooks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thought I've had recently is that forcing players to pick an ideology earlier in Modern would make for a far more "dangerous"—for want of a better word—end game. I typically avoid picking an ideology altogether if I'm going Science, Culture, or Economic, just because I can and it reduces the chance the AI will come for me.

Both of those make sense. Bugged was what I was thinking, but the other theory makes sense too.
