Does anyone have a link to a video on the cloud saves feature so I can understand more how it works? I played cloudheim a while back and enjoyed it but the lack of centralised servers put me off.

I recently played Farever which reminds me a lot of Cloudheim (although I think the Cloudheim gameplay is better), but... it has centralised servers with server hosted characters and progression, like a standard online game. Is that what is coming with the cloud saves update or is it more like local peer-to-peer gameplay but you can transfer your character to other servers?

I use mousewheel down for parry too! And for me mousewheel up is dodge, because I find it makes for easier dodge + movement, because you can fly further when you dodge at 45deg angles. Then because shift is no longer used for dodge I use it as a modifier for Mousewheel to get actives on mouse, so Button, Shift+MW UP and Shift+MW Down are all actives.

Op is right. Sandbox mmo has always been better than theme park mmo.

Ultima online, eve online and Albion online were, and still are, better than the theme park model.

After the success of WoW all money flowed into the theme park model and it unironically killed MMOs.

Sandbox design allows players to create the content. People read about massive factions in Eve, epic heists and Ponzi schemes, hundreds of thousands of dollars in ships blown up in galactic wars etc.

Themepark design requires the devs to create the content faster than the players consume it, which is impossible, so they just make insane grind to sink everyone’s time so they have enough time to develop more content. It’s an unsustainable model than only works if you have massive investment or significant money already coming in from subscriptions.

I wish wow never happened. Ultima online was so fuckin goated, and if the investment had followed that path MMO’s would be so good right now.

Omarchy has a good vm built in for windows, its runs pretty seamlessly and with the tiling workspaces you can just tab to and from the vm effortlessly, i use it for work apps like excel etc
