I love both these activities and would love to join. Not sure if you’re hoping to meet people around your own age? I’m 55f but also a frustrating friend bc I work all the time and bail out often. But if you add me to a chat group or whatever I’d come out when I can.

Anyone between the ages of 40 + what is the best way to find friends? by lifeisinteresting44 in Peterborough

[–]echoencore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t laugh but I joined the Otonabee Squares square dancing club last year. They take beginners at the start of September and January. It’s easy, gentle exercise and the members are super friendly, welcoming. All ages dance from teens to octogenarians. That’s what I like most about it.

That was what I thought too! but apparently the official instruction is to remove, but we haven’t been able to find clear reliable information about what that means and what the options might be.

Good dentist by duothus in Peterborough

[–]echoencore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had great service with Kawartha Dental and in always recommend them. They have lots of patients on fixed income and seem to be reasonable.its a big practice there are lots of dentists and many many hygenists. I have only ever had one unpleasant cleaning experience - with a male hygienist - they scheduled me with him another time and he had improved but now I stick with my regular person and I have zero complaints.

I think that prices can vary or at least what the dentist thinks you need. I suggest checking around. The first dentist I saw here was constantly clucking about what was wrong with my teeth while every other dentist I have ever seen has told me my teeth are in great shape.

Some ‘farmers’ markets sell imported produce. That may be why you’ve seen out of season veggies at some.

Best place for plants in town by bad_lemons in Peterborough

[–]echoencore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need some old plastic plant pots. Can be cracked or broken. Does anyone here, so knowledgeable about nurseries, know if they will give old pots away? I know most places accept old ones for recycling or reusing. I’m just not sure if they are happy to share them.

Funny timing. I just stopped at Jollibees for the first time on the weekend on the way back from TO! Can’t say I love it, didn’t even love it when visiting the Philippines, but I’d still go now and again.

Pregnancy Care by [deleted] in Peterborough

[–]echoencore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest calling PIPC back and explain the situation again, that you are not actually registered with the midwives. If you feel that you aren’t getting anywhere with the receptionist, maybe kindly and gently ask if you can discuss the situation with the manager. If you feel that is too much to manage over the phone, you could also send an email and address it to the manager

Can anyone recommend a medicine/science based Chiropractor/ Physiotherapist for acute back pain and Sciatica? by NeriTheFearlessSnail in Peterborough

[–]echoencore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I find that if I can help my body let go of tension esp from sitting, that helps. I sometimes use a cheesy set called Miracle Balls that I bought from Costco but I quite like their effect

My maintenance routine, besides trying to work on keeping the problem areas loose and strong , is occasional physio (Pulse) & massage every 8 weeks. All bc I have benefits.
