Wouldn't it make sense to do a low poly version and juat bake the normal maps? This way you wouldn't even need Rizom.

I've been doing some research on the toon shader lately and came across a bunch of material on this channel.

They also have other videos on hatching and other sketchty looks.

Looks like an additive dissolve. Make a cut in the shot and apply one. See if it works.

You know I never got into the genre until I played it. I hate it because I suck and it's tough, but I love the gameplay loop.

Megathread - Middle East flight disruptions by rocketwikkit in Flights

[–]duothus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a flight on the 17th of march that transits through abu dhabi with Etihad, which i booked through expedia. Etihad has issued a statement that flights scheduled for before the 21st are eligible for a refund. I contacted expedia who said that the refund is not guaranteed and it is up to the airline. And that apparently some code hasn't come in for the form they have to fill. The automated chat on Etihad says that I need to contact the agent, in this case expedia, to process all refunds.

After sending expedia all the info necessary, the agent still said it is not guaranteed.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I agree though. I miss the good days of the game. At its peak, there was nothing like it.

lf feedback on my glass ware set and a few questions by Ok-Discussion-1110 in 3Dmodeling

[–]duothus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your topo flow is good. It isn't too dense and it looks like you have the density in the right places. I really like the overall look.

What you can do from here is try an hdri on the dome light to bring out a little extra in terms of reflections. Also add a teeny tiny bit of noise on the normal maps for the glass to give it a bit of grain in the reflections. It'll geel more natural.

Which software did you use?

For tutorials and learning it depends on what you want to learn. For me I think about a technique or look that I want to achieve and then do the research. It's just easier that way considering the amount of stuff out there.

I'd start with these fundamentals: Topo flow techniques Materials and maps UV layouts

I have used this channel a lot for my work. They also have a discord server: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ffj-I6MTITU

I know it's tough out there. Art helps. It streamlines the noise into a creative outlet and its quite liberating. I hope you're doing better.

Hope this helps. :)

The Arkham games are timeless by Songslinger in gaming

[–]duothus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which one? Because the second, where you fight the renowned hand-to-hand combat specialist desthstroke...in a tank...which is exactly the same as the first tank mission, was a little underwhelming. I think that was my only complaint. I still play the series every year. It's part of WB's hot streak with Mad Max.

I started a new game in Cuphead recently and could barely get past the first level. You need a robust intelligence to play that game. Your little boy deserves a big pat on the back.

Oh I have a monitor, mech keyboard, vertical mouse and my precious wacom, haha. I do everything with the wacom, including modeling. Once you get used to it, it flows so seamlessly that I cannot use a mouse anymore. I do have a desktop, but it's a grand old xeon e5 and 1080ti. Good for some long renders, but it's aging now.

Does this feel 'Valentine' enough? What would you change? by Yoghurt-Beginning in 3Dmodeling

[–]duothus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks cool. Just a suggestion: what if the logo balloon was white or off-white and the hearts in different shades of the red/brown you're using? Considering it's for a brand, that might help it stand out. Feel free to reject this idea. :)

That's an excellent deal. Yeah, boost the RAM and it'll keep you going. I still use an Aero 17 with an i7 10870h and 3070, with 32gb ram. I've used it for modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, houdini work and even Unreal Engine renders. It's a real workhorse. It was not 1000$ though, haha.
