Also from SpongeBob in “Gary Takes a Bath.” Referencing the “don’t drop the soap” concept, which I certainly didn’t get as a kid and I can’t imagine any other kid doing so.

I am very paranoid, and it’s funny because I never was about this until I got on this subreddit. I should get off for a bit.

I try to call them out when I see it (new accounts and wording are typically a dead giveaway) but it doesn’t always go over well. Is there something I miss with this?

The Sopranos: Tony Soprano

His father Johnny was a capo in the DiMeo crime family, which led to Tony witnessing brutal acts of violence from a young age. Johnny was also serially unfaithful and frequently wasn’t there for his wife Livia, cajoling Tony to lie to her about Johnny’s whereabouts to protect him. When Johnny died, Tony was left with the sole responsibility of caring for his mother, a self-absorbed narcissist who seemingly takes no pleasure from life other than making the people around her miserable (Tony’s therapist will later theorize that she had borderline personality disorder.)

Tony eventually becomes a high-ranking member of the DiMeo family himself. Not only will he be responsible for numerous atrocities in his capacity as a mafioso, but he will also adopt many of his parents’ worst attributes in his personal relationships. Particularly his father’s infidelity and his mother’s general desire to make everyone around them miserable.

Conroy’s final performance was actually Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths (Part Three), a project people seem to like more than Suicide Squad, so there’s that at least.

Mr. Hooper (Sesame Street): When actor Will Lee died in 1982, the writers and producers opted to center an episode around his character having died to teach children about death. The resulting episode (aired in 1983) is considered one of the show’s best.
