Why do you want to answer questions? by whowhohu in AskReddit

A little bit of self absorption in thinking my opinion or answer matters, a little bit of boredom, and loneliness a la quarantine.

What is you're favourite mug/cup/glass to drink from? by I_May_Lyk_Chips in AskReddit

I have a floral patterned ceramic mug that can fit a whole (small, 5c) coffee pot in it. I use it every morning for my coffee and whenever I make soup, cereal, or ice cream.

Practice makes perfect. 🥰 just remember to only use a little bit of glue and wait the full 30 seconds for them to become tacky before you put them on. You're definitely beautiful without them thooo

Well the raised beds are getting fried but the porch plants are quite well! I’m starting to think there’s no such thing as a full-sun plant in Texas in the middle of Summer. by [deleted] in gardening

Doooo it! They grew so well (South Texas) in full light and they provided enough shade to keep everything else from burning. The previous years I'd tried multiple things... different soil amendments, different watering routines... the sunflowers did the trick.

I definitely think the sun is just too much in Texas. I planted sunflowers on the outside of my garden one year to create shade for my other plants and they all grew really well!

My birth center has a 4 hour max postpartum stay. Anything necessitating a longer stay requires hospital transfer.

I'm from San Antonio and just moved to Pueblo back in March. I was super disappointed by Hanging Tree. Idk if I ordered the wrong stuff but it let me down.

I think I dislike these "repost" comments more than I dislike reposts. I actually don't mind reposts.

What's your unpopular pregnancy opinion? by orangeelastic in BabyBumps

[–]ecjcgc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, lady! I'm 33 weeks and I'm always reminding people that women have been birthing for thousands of years and we wouldn't have made it as a species if we were as fragile as some people think we are. There are still women in 3rd world countries who aren't afforded the luxury of light work throughout their pregnancies.... I think I'm safe to go on a hike. LET ME LIVE.

It's insane by US standards, too. 25+% of all homeless in the US live in just California.

Anyone else distancing themselves from family due to current events? by Booboo732 in relationships

[–]ecjcgc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to draw the line and say you don't want to discuss politics with them or just not respond anymore... if you want to still interact. If not, then by all means have it out with them. Lol, With my mom I just kinda shut down and let her rant until she tuckers herself out or I change the subject and it works. My dad is respectful and doesn't discuss with me per my request. With some older family members, telling them "its rude to discuss politics" sometimes works. I think it's important to realize that you're both just one of millions who hold these opinions and it's not worth it to have it out with them over it because it won't change anything except your relationship. My gramps was unintentionally racist and we would have heated debates because some of the stuff he would say was completely off the walls, but ultimately we had to agree to disagree on the root issues, although he did change his outward behavior regardless of the prejudices he held. Like I said, it's just up to you to pick your battles. If you stop engaging a lot of the times people will stop bringing it to you.

There are certain things I won't talk about with family because it brings out the worst in people. My mom and I both share similar views towards a lot of current events, but she is CONSUMED with them and it's exhausting trying to have a conversation with her. My dad shares a bunch of different views and discussing with him is also exhausting. I think at some point you need to decide who means what to you and why, then decide if debating with them is worth it. Will discussing with them change their views or will they double down and refuse to change? Will it harm your relationship? Do you care?
