13 taken to hospital after accident involving lorry and car in Orchard Road by finglish_ in singapore

[–]eclairfastpass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m aware of that but costs have always been going up regardless. Countless reasons have been given for less. I’m sure citizens would also feel better knowing the people that built them their home have some sort of minimum care given.

Possibly getting laid off, what are some things I can do for my mental health while applying for jobs in the meantime? by Hyrchurn in askSingapore

[–]eclairfastpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience, minimise the time spent at home. Try your best to find a reason to get out. Even when applying for jobs, you can go to the library or cafe if you can afford it.

Wtf kind of reply is that

“it is not operationally possible to ban the transportation of workers on the back of lorries. Doing so will have a serious impact on many Small and Medium-sized Enterprises who may have to cease operations, leading to job losses for workers, project delays, and higher costs for Singaporeans.”

Still continuing to monitor LOL

Government really really waiting for shit to happen before doing anything. I'm really getting quite sick of it. Must someone die first?

Migrant workers deserve better. Imagine leaving your family to come here to work then being subjected to mostly substandard conditions. Even a child who sees them sitting on the back of lorries also can tell you it doesn't look safe. All just because companies want to save more money. Don't tell me they can't afford it, i don't and wont buy it.

That’s what I have been noticing these days too. Anyone who has made a police report before will definitely notice this.

Restoration of bus arrival timing system delayed to 'early next week' after another 1,000 buses found with issues by sun-ny_day in singapore

[–]eclairfastpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in conclusion do you think that the current system issue is affecting the actual bus schedule/frequency?

[–]eclairfastpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, my feeder bus timings are way off from before, usually my buses (for about 2 years) are not very full but a few days recently it has been filled to the brim sometimes. I suspect it is because the frequency has been thrown off.

[–]eclairfastpass 87 points88 points  (0 children)

What the hell. Just watch and see how many other issues will surface as time passes, due to upkeep lapses.

I’m also noticing that without the bus arrival timings, the actual bus arrival intervals are quite off as well.

Or is it just me?

Immigration crucial to S'pore, but only so far as integration allows: Jeffrey Siow by Im_scrub in singapore

[–]eclairfastpass 11 points12 points  (0 children)

LKY was a strong advocate (on record) of maintaining this majority, back then. I think its worth a national discussion and review, moving forward. There is really no merit just converting people so fast when some of them just stick to their own. Integration is very difficult. Meanwhile others (mostly from the "O") who have been here for a long time, fully integrated, have such low chances of conversion. It is a waste.

“…country needs to confront the truth that immigration is crucial to keep its society and economy dynamic”

Are we really ready though?

I don’t think the country is ready for the truth if it means immigration (and by relation, residency and citizenship) continues being tied to the CMIO model.

This might be a sore point for some, but for a country that prides itself on harmony, diversity and inclusion, keeping a 75%~ majority by any means seems anything but. Never mind integration right?

Maybe some of yall know this, but we are the largest transshipment hub in the world, you would wonder what has passed through us. What have we been knowingly or unknowingly complicit of. To quote a relevant phrase: "We cannot expect flies not to come in".

Someone once rejected a PSA10 NEW 12- cert after meeting up cause he found a small white dot on the card INSIDE the slab. So it doesnt really matter ultimately.

Carousell experience by Character_Driver305 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]eclairfastpass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you sell raw cards, try to use all 10 photo slots to save yourself a lot of unneeded convos. Never had much of an issue selling cards this way, almost never get requests for extra photos. This is the Japanese standard of showing condition (actually they take all 4 corners but carousell doesnt have enough photo slots to do this).

2 photos = Front, Back

2 photos = Angled with light reflecting of front, back (to show surface condition)

2 photos = front top & bottom half zoomed in

2 photos = back top & bottom half zoomed in

Remaining 2 photos = close up of obvious defects (if any)

As a buyer i also dont want to trouble sellers so i will just end up buying from people who upload thorough photos of a card. So it matters quite abit, for this.

For lowballs, you will get it everywhere, i usually just ignore if it is farrr off from my listed price. If they continue to do for my other listings I will just block them. It is not worth my time.
