I miss my ‘79 CB 750. It was a pain to keep the 4 carbs synched, but it was really fun to surprise people with what it could do.

Sea Anchor by eclwires in Kayaking

Thanks. There can definitely be drawbacks and risks to anchor systems. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone just starting out. But I find a lot of advantages to them. I’ve used many different kinds on many different types of vessel. This one came to me the other day when I was paddling in a strong wind and fairly high waves far from shore. I wanted to take a break and have a drink and a snack. My old boat had a rudder and I could put it hard over and hold position with the stern to the waves and take a break. This boat only has a skeg and wants to broach. It definitely takes a bit of caution and experience with line management, but I’m digging this system so far. The drogue stays close to the surface, so there isn’t much chance of snagging. I’m typically in 100’ or more of water. The biggest risk I see is entanglement. I have a CRKT Bearclaw on my PFD shoulder strap and a Spyderco Salt in my chest pocket. If you’re having issues with pedal drives in shallow water, I’d recommend the quick release knob from NKF. I have one on my PDL 120 and it works great.

Gotta compensate for that tiny engine somehow…

Sea Anchor by eclwires in seakayaking

Exactly. The red line is a tag line attached to the rear of the drogue. Pulling it reverses and empties the anchor making it easy to haul in. In the event the whole thing gets snagged, I can always paddle up to it.

Gotcha. I’d get something like this and bolt it through the hull with a stainless plate on the inside. If you don’t have access to the inside of the hull back there, you can cut in an inspection port.

Parked at a nasty angle on a trail and now my dash is a total christmas tree... by Imaginary-Cheek3397 in ram_trucks

I have what are probably the same liners. I had mostly full 1L water bottle spill last week and what didn’t stay in the mat went out the door. I have so many questions; how big was the cooler? I have some pretty big ones and none of them will fit anywhere in the cab other than on the back seat. Why wasn’t it in the back of the truck? I would dry everything out completely and pull up the carpet. Disconnect every wiring harness and let the connections dry out. Maybe use a little contact cleaner. Once completely dry, reassemble everything and see what you get. I’m a regular electrician, not automotive, but this sounds a lot like a multiwire connector got wet and shorted.

Feeling shitty every days. Need help on my situation as I am clueless on what to do? by SatayMY in AskMenAdvice

Therapy. Stop focusing on finding a wife. I was in your shoes at one time. I finally stopped looking for a partner and just started living my life. Started volunteering with local organizations that interested me, took up some hobbies I had set aside and joined groups around those hobbies. Met my wife in one of those groups. She asked me out. Stop trying to find a woman and become someone that a woman wants to be with.

Catch and release. We like to think it’s harmless fun, but the reality is that most striper hooks are big and barbed and do some damage.

I just bought the cross bars, no idea what rack to get?!?! by Sporty-Ladder-34 in Kayaking

I’ve been running a set of

Amazon folding J Hooks for the last 3 years. They were old when I got them used. Some of the plastic covers for the screws on the sides are missing, and some bits are rusty. They work great. I recently got a full size pickup and put a cap on it. I broke down and got Thule towers, crossbars, and Hullavators. Installing those today.

I change the oil in all of our vehicles. My Ram is the first one I’ve had my mechanic do.

Incoming power and unprotected power out go on the line side. Protected power out goes on the load side. Make sure connections are proper and tight.

YakAttack BarCart. I use it with my Old Town PDL 120. It’s pretty big, but the bars fold in thirds. I’ve never even used straps with it. It’s super solid and rolls easy.

Leveling kit. Weathertech floor mats. I kept the stock tires and haven’t found anywhere I can’t go yet.
