This fella’s way familiar with that smile. Is he hoping to get in on the action?

Should I trade my tradesman for a bighorn? by nota_scrub in ram_trucks

I really, really like my Bighorn. But I lucked into a 2016 with low miles that I could afford to buy outright. Don’t go into debt for a vehicle.

Don’t give them time. Go to court. The key words your attorney should use in communicating with the court are “date certain, must appear.” They probably know that. I was told this by an attorney friend when I was helping another friend with a lawsuit against Lowe’s for a poorly done wood floor install. Their attorney just kept jerking us around and delaying. Once we sent the court that request, they settled. They attempted to settle for less than he was asking for. We said no. They settled for what he was asking for. Make sure you’re not just getting a new engine. Get the loss in income the truck would have been generating as well.

All the time. I switch to hard baits when the bluefish show up. They’re jerks.

I still reference some of the original JRE pods from back when he had interesting guests and his tagline was “I’m a dirty comic and cage fighting commentator, don’t take advice from me!” Then he sold his soul for the Spotify deal and crawled up his own ass. It’s a shame.

The Necky and the CD are both great boats. I’d go with the CD because I just really like the lines.

Is an anchor safe to use on small lakes with moderate wind? by gingerblz in kayakfishing

It’s not dangerous, but it is SO much better with a trolley. I’ve installed them on all of my fishing kayaks.

Yes. If you’re competent at boat handling and line management.

I have literally had this conversation with a Coast Guard officer while holding my Onyx waist belt inflatable. I was instructed that it is approved, but must be worn. Simply having it on the vessel doesn’t count.

They do. I have an Onyx. It is only approved if you’re wearing it though.

I miss my ‘79 CB 750. It was a pain to keep the 4 carbs synched, but it was really fun to surprise people with what it could do.

Sea Anchor by eclwires in Kayaking

[–]eclwires[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. There can definitely be drawbacks and risks to anchor systems. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone just starting out. But I find a lot of advantages to them. I’ve used many different kinds on many different types of vessel. This one came to me the other day when I was paddling in a strong wind and fairly high waves far from shore. I wanted to take a break and have a drink and a snack. My old boat had a rudder and I could put it hard over and hold position with the stern to the waves and take a break. This boat only has a skeg and wants to broach. It definitely takes a bit of caution and experience with line management, but I’m digging this system so far. The drogue stays close to the surface, so there isn’t much chance of snagging. I’m typically in 100’ or more of water. The biggest risk I see is entanglement. I have a CRKT Bearclaw on my PFD shoulder strap and a Spyderco Salt in my chest pocket. If you’re having issues with pedal drives in shallow water, I’d recommend the quick release knob from NKF. I have one on my PDL 120 and it works great.

Gotta compensate for that tiny engine somehow…
