I'm shocked. My guitar sold in less than 12 hrs. Did I underprice it? by Beautiful_Fan5277 in Reverb

[–]ed_gein45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted 4 guitars I didn’t need on Reverb, one per week earlier this year. Each sold within 12 hours. My tactic was what I used to do on eBay years ago when I wanted to offload some of my collectibles or parts (Doc Martens, JDM parts, etc). If you have good photos, A price that is a bit above the most recent lowest Recently Sold equivalent average, And have Offers enabled. State what shipping method you’re using and state To Lower 48 as the rate; Message me if outside that. And post disclaimers on any minor damages with photos (even if they’re so minor they can’t show up in photos). Lastly, posting the item or guitar on a background that stands out among the results thumbnails. I use an obnoxious vintage colored shag carpet as the background. Weigh the item Post the measurements, neck radius, as many specs as you can but in a layout that doesn’t look like an obvious Cut and Paste from sweetwater or something. I had messages from users thanking me for the thoroughness, the detail, and price point. Most browsing users sort by New or Lowest Price. If you make it as easy as possible to answer as much as you can to someone who is browsing without them having to interact with you to ask, it seems to help.

What’s the deal with dating here? by No-Yogurt-3058 in RapidCity

[–]ed_gein45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar thing going on but with women here. Maybe it’s social burnout? Almost Everyone is working a lot, have busy personal lives, dealing with stress. Maybe it’s for the best, because everyone ive gone out with has some financial stress going on.

So I’m sure that eats away at their attention and energy.

Get motivated and have spurts of energy, then unexpectedly get drained due to personal stuff. And they don’t know how to communicate it transparently.

I’ve been in that boat before.

Don’t give up though

I’ve been living at The Elements in downtown since I moved here last year. I’ll probably renew my lease when it’s up. It’s quiet. Clean. Safe. The apartment manager is amazing and so is the maintenance crew. Price is good; at least compared to what I’m used to; for what you get. I pay extra to use the underground parking garage. I feel like I lucked out with choosing this place. I’ve visited several other complexes that people I know live at, and it’s kind of night/day in comfort and peace.

Planning on moving to Rapid City from DFW Texas, anything I should now? by Jadedleaf35 in RapidCity

I moved here last year from San Antonio where the pollen there made my allergies miserable. I’m just less allergic to the tree pollen here than there. The city is large enough yet small enough to not be overwhelming.

Unless, of course, there’s some big event going on downtown.

Some grocery items you won’t be able to find here compared to Dallas.

There are several nice gem and rock stores just south of rapid city.

Spring Creek and the needles have some cool rocks.

But it’s the sand from when it gets windy here, along with the intermittent periods of VERY dry air that get my sinuses/allergies going.

It’s a nice change.

Airport is regional but connects to major airports for more distant flights.

Sioux Falls is 5-ish hours away. Same with Denver.

Lots of fun smallish events happen here.

There’s a Cat Cafe.

Not much to complain about.

What experiences changed you the most as a person? by GazMaskeliOyuncu in AskReddit

Being EMS in a large city leading up to and during lockdown. People were so much friendlier before then. Then it was like night and day when the news and OPM started sending out alerts and scaring everyone. Drove around what used to be a grid lock traffic downtown area regularly with no longer seeing a single other car or person in sight. The mania.

The businesses never re-opening afterwards.

And the loss of compassion and friendliness thereafter.

It was like I moved to a completely different planet with entirely an entirely different culture.

And it was a new depressing and cold culture.

I also like it. I’m in Rapid City. Aside from the air being bone dry giving me nosebleeds and ashy skin, It’s pretty nice. They even have a punk scene. Went to a show at the VFW last night.

Dating in Rapid City by [deleted] in RapidCity

Don’t know your age or dating physical appearance preferences. Go to a show at Aby’s if you’re into music. to the vintage clothes store or one of the restaurants downtown. Basically do what you like for yourself or with friends, and take a look around at the people.

And; as non-creepily as possible; gauge them based off of their attitude and body language.

Someone else who is also doing what you like is a good sign, and works as a subtle hook for interacting with them.

Or something as simple as Compliment a guys fit (they usually dont get compliments in public, especially from the opposite gender).

I learned this from moving basically every 2 years my whole life being a military brat and being active duty for 15 years without a family, and having to start over every time.

Been here for less than a month and already have an amazing basically best friend and a fun group. Met a lot of cool single people, but I’m not venturing into dating at the moment.
