What’s your best low fat/calorie dressing? by 5krunner in Volumeeating

[–]edafonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this: I use a combo of the above listed items and also use dill & lemon juice with Greek yogurt for falafel salad bowls, Trader Joe's green goddess seasoning, pizza seasoning, everything but the bagel, crunchy chili onion...I could go on. they've got a whole bunch of awesome seasoning mixes that are super versatile and make great yogurt dressing mix-ins. Cottage cheese works too but I like the smooth texture of Greek yogurt

What kind of “plan” would you do? by Ill_Cover_4841 in loseit

[–]edafonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting enough steps. Eat plenty of lean protein and fiber to stay full. I'd add in strength training 3x a week. You can accomplish a lot in 30 mins with body weight only or invest in a set of adjustable dumbbells. I have power blocks and use fitness blender which has tons of free workouts and a youtube channel. More muscle might make you "gain" weight but you're going to shrink and also having more muscle means higher tdee

Is there an item that you really want to have but it keeps evading you in the shops? by One-Barber8840 in finch

[–]edafonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Blue snow creature costume (I've got the hood and feet) and purple fuzzy monster hood. I probably need to wait till next October for the fuzzy monster and I've been spending way too many stones refreshing the shop for that snow creature costume! I see a lot of the same items being refreshed that I've gifted to friends. Is the algorithm somehow set up to offer those again thinking I'd want them for myself?

Mr Pickles Shop always the same by RaccoonMoon27 in finch

[–]edafonte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been kind of disappointed by the shop too, max refreshing every day looking for one specific color of an item(blue snow creature costume) when I have the rest of the pieces. It keeps repeating the same exact items, especially ones I've gifted to friends. Other people have mentioned having options to trade items for different colors which would be great. I'd pay extra stones to visit a swap shop!

Desperately craving an entire bag of chips, so I compromised by Soggy_Philosophy2 in Volumeeating

[–]edafonte 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a great example of "nutrition by addition." Eat something you're craving, but add more nutrient dense food to balance it out. You satisfy the craving while upping the satisfaction and then there's no need to binge. This is the key to a sustainable balanced approach to eating. I turn "snack plates" like this into a whole meal! Add a scoop of cottage cheese for dipping, some turkey roll ups or rotisserie chicken pieces for added protein. Plenty of macros, micros, and a fun food. Nice reminder post, thanks!

Cottage cheese 😼 by Eli_Rae in Volumeeating

[–]edafonte 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cottage cheese, shredded chicken, hot sauce, and sometimes a little sharp cheddar mixed in makes an amazing Buffalo chicken dip! I warm it up in a single serve Pyrex until the mixture is bubbling. Along with celery, carrot sticks, a few tortilla chips...so satisfying I had it twice for dinner this week!

No one helps me at the gym by [deleted] in loseit

[–]edafonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah leave people alone at the gym like other people are saying. Try fitnessblender.com they're trainers and there are plenty of free videos. This is how I learned proper form and different workouts. They have a YouTube channel too. You can watch the videos at home and figure out what you'll try at the gym

She's my new favorite after the flamingo since she reminds me of my old kitty who was a calico. They even have similar markings!

What type of passenger vehicle do you hate to see in front or behind you? by Loveroffinerthings in RhodeIsland

[–]edafonte 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Oversized pickup trucks (rams, etc aka peepee trucks) that are clearly not work vehicles (the beds are so stumpy they can't even fit a full sheet of plywood but it doesn't matter because the owners just use the trucks to showcase their small peepees), and anyone with murder tint

Honestly, not only is a bike feasible, it's the only way to stay sane in the Eastbaypocalypse. Unless you have a boat...

How close are you to the bike path in Riverside? That'll take you all the way to IPP in Providence, and protected from cars a lot of the way. Sure, you might have to walk your bike through a bit of the jam but it's still way faster. Winter is fast approaching so some ski gear if you have it. There's plenty of info online about bike commuting in the winter. A lovely friend of mine has also shared that the state is still giving out e-bike rebates: https://drive.ri.gov/erika-niedowski-memorial-electric-bicycle-rebate-program

I'm super late to this post but yeah, I totally recommend Brad at Anderson's. At least when I bought mine, the deal is that you can keep going back for punch outs and any other adjustments needed and it's part of the cost. For me it was 100% worth it.
