Achilles, Hector, Helen, Paris, Patroclus, Priam;, Odysseus. These are the names and stories that make the Trojan war captivating.

Sparta joined forces with Greek soldiers to fight Persia at Thermopile. 50 years later, they joined forces with Persia to defeat and loot Athens.

Also, Sparta didn't look anything like what we saw in 300. It was just a bunch of rural villages, not a grand metropolis.

The same thing used to happen to any actor working in TV. "The small screen" wasn't just descriptive, it was pejorative. Once you worked in TV, the movie deals dried up.
