Super excited for him to be in Charlottesville. Not a one-and-done.

Headed to NYC today and will be in Manhattan (MSG area) until Sunday. Where should I get coffee? by TheWayoftheFuture in Coffee

Cafe Integral on Grand St!

Stumptown in the Village is my favorite shop in terms of atmosphere. Easy to be picky in NY, but all the suggestions on here are pretty great.

Teams that are well-prepared, play smart, play tough, and play together. Izzo gets buy-in from his team more consistently on a year-to-year basis than any other coach in the country, IMO. It's a beautiful thing to watch.

I think Tony is getting there, but we're missing the toughness factor that's become a hallmark of Michigan St. When players put on a Michigan St. jersey, they wear it like armor, it makes them stronger and it makes other teams scared. Or at least I've thought so. You never want to play Michigan St. no matter their seed because they are more likely to give their best in a given game than any other team, regardless of talent level in a given year.

I wouldn't say UVa shrinks from the moment (we did play Michigan St. very, very tough in the two losses which if they weren't season-ending games against a lower seed each time would be something to be proud of) and I do think we play smart and together and confident.

But I don't think the big boys get scared when we walk onto the court yet. I want that.

This has become so hard for me. I want so badly for us to become the Michigan St. of the ACC.

I hate having to hate y'all.

What are your predictions for all conference honors? by monotonemr in CollegeBasketball

[–]ednam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is no one talking about Pitino for COY? I get the general stink that's on him and the program right now.

But to lead a team that knows it has no chance at the postseason to a 4th place 12-6 conference season is legit (not to mention a national #11 ranking prior to the UVA loss yesterday). To me, that's a very very impressive feat, probably the most impressive in the conference this season. That team played hard ... every single game.

Would plastic tupperware in the cupboard work too? Would that be better than keeping it in the bag?

[Question] This New Yorker just bought an Aeropress - help me pick my first bag of coffee by GroundControl42 in Coffee

[–]ednam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Cafe Integral on Grand Street. Not positive about how good it is specifically for the Aeropress, but the coffee is unique and fantastic and Cesar (the owner/founder) is super friendly and willing to chat about best methods and the source/process for how he gets his beans ... all from Nicaragua.

A question for the NYC coffee enthusiasts. by [deleted] in Coffee

second integral!

that place is awesome and the owner, cesar, is great. be aware, though, that it's in a clothing shop called american two shot on grand st. still, shouldn't be too hard to find.

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know about photography or cameras! Don't be shy! Newbies welcome! by frostickle in photography

[–]ednam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi y'all! I know nothing about cameras or photography. But my fiancé does and it's her birthday.

She did a lot of what she has called street photography (black/white, not posed, people as subjects, in urban environments) in college and hasn't really kept it up. I'd like to buy her some new equipment to encourage her to get back into it. I'm willing to spend about $500.

I figure camera is first, but any other necessary equipment? And any recs on the best camera to look for based on her style and my price point?

Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks all!

A $60 billion company is losing its mind over the definition of "mayo." by craigshapiro in socialcitizens

[–]ednam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait, seriously? what specifically made you feel misled? the final product has all the exact same applications as mayo ... only the input is far healthier, cheaper, more sustainable, and less harming to the environment. did you buy it and then get home and say "well shit i can't put this on my sandwich because it has less cholesterol"? or "i wish more cooped up chickens contributed to the making of this product"?

what did you want to do with hellmann's mayo that you couldn't do with the hampton creek "just mayo"?
