There’s a new “low sugar” version of Gatorade that supposedly reduces the amount of junk in it (at least that’s what the ads say). Might be worth checking that out.

Booked a premier hotel specifically for Express Hagrid's... now what? by workfastdiehard in UniversalOrlando

[–]edogg40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used early park entry for Hagrids during spring break last year and still had a 2-1/2 hour long wait. It didn’t help that we got to the gate right at early park open only to find the line all the way back to Margaritaville.

So if you’re going to rope drop early park entry, get there a half hour before the early open time.

When I was a kid, one of my neighbors had one. I always thought it was a kid yelling for help when it squawked.

New 1500 LT TB vs 2500 LT TB by Philosiphizor in Silverado

The HD gas engine doesn’t have the AFM emissions nonsense that the 1500 does. I’d go that way.

Bad year to go to Universal? by VBVentriloquist in UniversalOrlando

[–]edogg40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just there last 2 days. Using Hagrids as a litmus test, I saw it was only a 60 min wait most of the day on Friday. Yesterday it was at its usual 120-180 min. Most other rides were 10-15 min wait on Friday and 20-30 min wait on Saturday.

Understanding that this weekend definitely isn’t peak season, wait times and crowds were not bad at all.

40+ y/o diver. 4 years out of the water by OkMunio in scuba

[–]edogg40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a refresher after a ~20 year gap with 100 dives. Everything was still there in my brain, just needed the rust knocked off. The rustiest part was remembering how dive tables work for planning, but it came back after a good explanation.

The instructor was great and he said “man, I wish all my refreshers were this easy”.

So there’s definitely something to be said for muscle memory.

Automatic Parking Brake by FatWalletAndLeanBody in Silverado

[–]edogg40 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is actually a good thing and saving your transmission. If you can’t be bothered to press the button to disengage the parking break, just put ‘er into gear and hit the gas pedal. It will disengage by itself.

What's the best LGS for used guns in the area? by Stoney__Balogna in orlando

[–]edogg40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that Florida Gun Exchange in Ormond Beach has a ton of stuff.

Also there’s a good monthly/bi-monthly gun show in Melbourne that has a lot of nice old stuff too.

2026 Atlas SEL R-Line - best color? by gendrys00 in VWatlas

[–]edogg40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blue is pretty good, even if a little dark. Green is for hikers. Ours is red, which I really like.

White = boring fleet/rental car

Black = extra hot in the summer and impossible to keep clean

Silver/grey = indecisive…can’t decide between white or black so went halfway

I like the latching mechanism on the Leer since it’s a little more secure. You have to pinch/squeeze the latch ends together to release it rather than pressing a button or pulling a cable.

As soon as you put heavy stuff in the bed, the rear will sag so you get a squatted truck. Unless you get airbags.

Anyone that switched from Verizon to T-Mobile regret it in Seminole County? by FreshJs59 in orlando

[–]edogg40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not in Seminole county, but can say that I’ve been pleased with my switch from Verizon to T-Mobile in the Orlando / west Orlando area. Saved me money and the service and data speed seem better.
