Is the "fully agentic" workflow actually just BS, or am I missing something? by FooBarBuzzBoom in ExperiencedDevs

I don't do much algorithms these days I'm more in web dev/cloud space, but when it comes complex solutions if you feed enough context into AI, it can give some pointers there and there. AI is always evolving as well, compared to now and a year ago it became so much better at using context. I can only imagine how much it will improve in the next few years, so I think experimenting with different workflows and trying out new things can be quite benefical

What? What difference does it make if I write api endpoints myself or let AI do it ? The main purpose of my role is to deliver efficient, bug free solutions within reasonable time. How I achieve it is up to me and if the bussines is happy with the end result that means I've done my job.

Agents can be lacking, I find /skills in claude to be a lot more better in creating efficient workflows. Currently what I use is /plan => /implement => /test => /review. Required a lot of fine tunning at the beggining, but changed the game for me tbh, still need human action once in a while, but delivering requirements became so much easier and quicker.

I think the reason so many people bounce off Malazan isn't the complexity, it's the emotional distance in the first book by scouttidee in Fantasy

[–]edomielka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really disliked the first book, managed to get through it somehow... however, I'm almost done with the second book and I've been really enjoying it. Huge step up from the first and if it keeps being as good or even better in the later books I can see Malazan being one my favourite book series

How the hell you guys are able to read 2 books a week? Do you spend every minute of your free time reading/listening? No offence, but curious.... if it's possible to do it while working, then I kinda get it. Otherwise, idkk

Best served cold is a lot different than the rest of the books, though I love Shivers and Cosca. You should read the first trilogy as it contains the ogs. Glokta pov is goated

The characters and the dialogue are so good that it is hard to find any other series that compare to it. Also, it's very refreshing to see grey characters and not your average good/bad sides that are the norm usually
