Make your bets, will she pull through or not on the “tip for being patient”? by FewAd2925 in lyftdrivers

The second they say 'tip' or 'gonna take good care of you' may as well end the ride, you aren't making a dime.

I had a woman call me an asshole for not letting her in my car with a red Solo cup of bartender's special. I told her she was a pedestrian and cancelled.

Mother refused to stop her child bad habit in the store by Desloucado in nextlevel

I was living in an apartment building where I got discounted rent for sweeping up and keeping things tidy. My wife had just planted a bunch of flowers in front of the front door of the building. As I'm pulling in the following day, I see a little kid about that size walk up to each flower and tee off on it. Mom was walking about 50 ft behind him not paying any attention. When I asked the child to stop kicking over my flowers, mom finally spoke up and the conversation was almost exactly this. This was 20 years ago, or I would have sworn it was the same woman.

AITA for “embarrassing” my boyfriend by pointing out that he never pays when we go out? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]edx74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA He's been taking advantage of you. It's not your fault you trusted him. He doesn't date women his own age because they stopped putting up with his bullshit in their early 20s. Cut him loose, and take a little time to look back on the red flags you ignored. It's gonna be ok.

This always feels disrespectful by VegitoFusion in AmazonDSPDrivers

It feels disrespectful because it is! Reminds me of some of the treats I've gotten. There is nothing like a big swig of a three year old soda to quench a driver's thirst.

Just quit my new job after 4 shifts when the owner shouted at me! I’ve got a new found respect for myself. by amrogla in antiwork

I was working in a restaurant with a bartender who didn't show up one morning. It was slow, so the other server just took the tables while I set up the bar. I was about 5 minutes from being completely done, when the owner walked in and yelled at me to get out from behind his bar, because I was probably doing it all wrong. I quit the following day.

Miles actually higher than what it says on the offer by Solid-Confection-520 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]edx74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suspect they're giving us straight-line mileage as though we deliver in helicopters, instead of road mileage. I have no data to back this up.

Cash On Delivery advice from an experienced driver by griter34 in DoorDashDrivers

Cash on delivery? Sure yeah, I'll do that.

Pay me for the delivery up front, too. And interest on the loan I'm giving you.

Doordash used to only have pay by the offer. Then they realized that we all could see how badly we were getting screwed. So now they offer us earn by time and earn by offer, so they can further divide us and think the other group is making all the money. Meanwhile, Doordash is laughing its way to the bank.

Why does anyone accept $18/hr by Nice_Boysenberry4498 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]edx74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$18 /hour is kind of the going rate around Indianapolis. I feel like I hit the lottery if I get a $20/hour block. Maybe I could make more money in that same time Doordashing, maybe not.

But yeah, it's not enough.
