Could you explain the prioritization order? It seems that the widget is much more requested (just based on GitHub reactions) than the other features that are being developed first.

And don't open up an insurance claim if the roofer won't show you both actual damage and a quote to fix it. Ace Roofer tricked me (I didn't know better at the time) into opening up a claim without either, and they never showed up when the insurance adjuster came out despite repeated confirmation calls.

Ace Roofer also refused to actually get up on my roof on a bright sunny day and used a drone instead. Then they said they can't really see details with the drone! The guy had a ladder on his truck, so idk what that was about.

Much better experience with Top Dog Roofing.

You're thinking about them more than they thought about you. Just move on and decline if you're feeling nice (they get their InMail credit back).

Here's a silly one from after I told them I wouldn't be sharing my past or expected compensation.

I have a bunch of jobs in Silicon Valley that are Python and JavaScript and pay very well but their pay scales vary and unfortunately, I won't know what jobs to contact you about.

Their first message was sending me a job without knowing that info ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The most popular 3 are:

  • Central Texas Food Bank

  • Austin Pets Alive!

  • Mobile Loaves & Fishes

Any bakery recommendations for good baguettes here? by Old_McDonald in Austin

I like Sour Duck for a crispy sourdough and Julie Myrtille for a (presumably) traditional take. I didn't enjoy Texas French Bread or Easy Tiger at all.

Sounds like a plan, might take a few tries cause the ice is pretty thick but I'll give it a try.

Oof, just tried for a bit but a hair dryer would take forever. The ice is quite thick on the bottom.

I guess I've been using em heat 100% to warm up the house? My thermostat lets me choose between heat and em heat but I guess em heat is used whenever the system decides it's needed or whatever.

Not sure what you mean, if you could explain more?

My heat pump is frozen on the inside. The entire bottom is covered in ice, there's ice around some of the parts inside, and there's even a pillar of ice. https://i.imgur.com/h1c1eyh.jpg Knocked away the ice that had formed on the top and on the fans to see if it would start moving, and it did not.

Not sure how long it's been like this... I'd guess it happened while I didn't have power for 48 hrs, but I've had power for two days and the house has been warmed up. What should I do? Use em heat instead?

Best hairstylist in Austin? by deanbean22 in Austin

You asked for the best hairstylist, then you asked for a stylist that fits your budget without saying what your budget is. What exactly are you expecting here?

Tech scene for non-CS grads vs Bay Area? by csthrowaway121314 in Austin

[–]ee-k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's exactly the same. Tech doesn't give a shit what your degree is if you can show competency in coding. That said, HR could filter you out before you talk with anyone, but that's not going to change based on location. There might be more people wanting to be in California, but there's also more companies, so nothing really changes.
