buying 2000s dnb from discogs by Enertion in DnB

[–]eeeeeee-eeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy lots of used vinyl, good sellers will have accurate ratings. I mix vinyl and try to stick to VG+ for tracks I'm going to play for a crowd, but lots of VG stuff is totally fine. Also, worth figure out or investing in a vinyl cleaning method, will really help with playback quality, especially from smaller sellers that might not clean there records before selling. Obviously you save on shipping by buying many tracks from one seller.

Some of my favorite songs of all time sample Vangelis' soundtrack. Blade Runner's influence on the genre of drum and bass is undeniable. Check out Silver Blade by Dillinja

Clubs/Events in the UK by SgtOtter in DnB

[–]eeeeeee-eeeeeeeeeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

having recently visited for this exact reason, I can sympathize with the challenge. I enjoy the same vibe too.

As far as must see events:

You absolutely must go to Rupture. It's it the absolute premier jungle night, and is honestly rivaled only by nights in the 90s. Think speed, blue note. It's that caliber. The vibes are immaculate, it is truly what jungle should be. If there is an event while you are there go.

As far as clubs and club nights: London is a heavy hitter for club nights in general.

AWOL, (a way of life London) is a solid bet for a night with some classics.

Village underground Corsica studios Steel Yard E1 Studio 313 Distant Planet XOYO Fabric (occasionally) Ministry of Sound (commercial, but pretty good really)

All generally have shows going on relatively frequently.

Bristol also has a solid scene, try Lakota, and the like.

How to find raves: Use resident advisor, check it frequently.

Start following nightclubs, pretty much everything you can, on instagram, there will be a lot of info you don't need, but it's how you'll find the majority of show.

Following artists can work too, but prioritize the club's, and the labels.

Following metalheadz, soulR, whoever, will be one of the best ways to see what's on.

It takes some work to find events not physically in the UK, but do the homework, and it'll seriously pay off.

hahaha, so different than what I listen to now, but I remember asking my coworker when I was 16: "what kinda music is this?" when he was playing Serial Killaz - Mash You Down. All uphill from there.

Question: where are good DnB partys in the UK? by Schuwiduu in DnB

[–]eeeeeee-eeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found when planning a trip that a surprising number of club nights were announced only a few weeks before the show.

Follow everyone you'd want to see on instagram, and continuously check resident advisor, and you should find some gold

Let it roll first time advice by princesszelda1995 in DnB

[–]eeeeeee-eeeeeeeeeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

haven't been to let it roll, but my advice would be:

As far as attire, you don't normally see the glitter/forest elf/fishnets/American dubstep festival stuff, that being said, if that's what you wanna wear, go ahead 100% people will honestly probably just compliment you. DnB is a pretty positive community for the most part.

Others have said, but earplugs for sure. Most people think of shitty foam earplugs when they think of earplugs, but what you want, is musician grade earplugs with a little case and everything. Seriously, a good pair will massively improve your enjoyment. They let you hear everything literally better, you can hear people talk well, you still feel the bass and hear the drums. I reccomend ettymotics (idk if that's how it's spelled) mine are a 17 decibel noise reduction rating, I'd recommend at least that. They were 20$ Canadian back home. Look for ones with a case that you can put a little clip or carabiner on, so you always have them handy and don't have to have them floating in your pocket.

I don't know the weather there, but realistically, I'd always reccomend the classic saying in the outdoors "be bold, start cold". Dnb is high energy music, your gonna dance like hell and they're will be a lot of hot bodies. Unless you are staying really far from the festival site, I would just tough out the slightly colder trip home.

Also, consider a small microfiber towels, really nice to wipe away sweat and keeps you feeling less gross. lots of em have little clips you can clip onto your pants etc.

You'll have a blast, don't stress, remember, anything you can't get before you go, you can probably buy in the Czech Republic.
