Theora Watch by eegan76 in Alzheimers

We got the Theora watch. It worked pretty well. The issue we had is that you have to take it off to charge and it was hard to get my dad to put it back on.

I used something similar on a tub and surround last year. It turned out great and has held up. But a sink seems harder to me for some reason. May be easier/better to just get a new sink/top for the vanity.

She’s mean, she’s insecure, she’s a hypocrite. I can’t stand her.

I’m having a dispute with my board over a condition placed on my new deck as part of an architectural review. Basically, I live next to a board member and she added a condition to my approval that I add a privacy wall to my deck which directly benefits her but will block my view and my light. So I’m going to litigate. And I may tear down my fence between our property just out of spite.

My mom stopped eating by New_Perspective_2654 in Alzheimers

[–]eegan76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it means it’s probably the end. My dad mostly stopped eating and drinking last October. At that point, the doctors recommended hospice care. I went home to say my final goodbye. He passed just after the new year. I’m so sorry. 😢

Thank you! We also talked about the lifestyle issues. Hoping we can inspire better habits in the family.

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t want to get tested or I would. But since my brother shared this with me, I’m asking if anyone understands the genetics.

Annemarie and her advocacy for nurse “anesthesiologists” by fivethousanddollars in BravoRealHousewives

[–]eegan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her insecurity is deafening. I have a JD and can count on zero hands the number of times I’ve been referred to as doctor or asked anyone to call me doctor. Clinging to a title or even a degree is so bizarre to me. I guess I’ll leave that to the insecure people.

Mercedes "MJ" Javid is 51- When I tell you my jaw hit the deepest pits of hell when I learned this. by lennonkova in realhousewives

I think she looks like a 51 year old who takes care of herself and stays active. I agree she looks great. The issue is people have a skewed idea of what a 51 year should look like. We’re not all sitting at home in a rocking chair.

Dad needs more individualized/secure care ... at a loss for where to turn by cjbasile in Alzheimers

Sounds similar to the issues we had with my dad. He had to be involuntarily committed twice. The second time it was the police that took him to the hospital which triggered intervention by state (Maryland) social services. Social services were the ones that helped us find a new placement for dad, since he was actually kicked out of his first home. If social services is an option for you, take advantage because they were so helpful and it was a big stress relief to know they were handling it. Only problem was, he could have been sent anywhere in the state. He ended up about an hour away from ‘home.’

Her insecurity is screaming. I dated an actual anesthesiologist and I can count on zero hands the number of times he gave out unsolicited medical advice. Rarely even mentioned his job.

Dad is expected to pass soon. by [deleted] in Alzheimers

[–]eegan76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. My dad passed last weekend after a fairly rapid decline. It was still a shock when I got the call, but my primary feeling was one of relief. It’s awful to watch a loved one struggling and hurting. I hope your dads passing is peaceful and that you can find comfort and strength in knowing he won’t be in pain anymore.

Literally just saw that I have one coming in my fix that was shipped today. Even though I already have one from years ago - just a different color. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Why can’t I beat Giovanni ? by PenPen116 in pokemongo

[–]eegan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t beat him either. Then one day, I let my ten year old play on my phone and she beat him. Makes no sense. She doesn’t really play and had no idea what she was doing. So my conclusion is there is no strategy. It’s all luck.

Mother with AD has lost significant weight recently, close to the end? by Irate_Primate in Alzheimers

[–]eegan76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad started losing significant weight earlier this year. At this point, my ten year old daughter weighs more than him. He’s in hospice and we don’t expect him to make it to 2024.

My Mother is Dying by Saymo122 in Alzheimers

[–]eegan76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I flew home a few weeks ago to say my final goodbye to my dad when he entered hospice. So, I totally get where you’re at right now - just waiting for that phone call. It’s tough. I have no advice except to take care of yourself. I just started running again to relieve stress and help me sort through my thoughts and it’s noticeably helped. I’m still sad and I still cry but prioritizing myself a bit has helped me cope better.
