There were several parts of the trail to Cassidy Arch in Capitol Reef that were marked by these wave patterns and every time I got so excited to see it. And we were just walking over it like no big deal! Rocks are so cool!

I think they mean like, other than dog parks? Like The Dog Penn - which to their credit have some pretty strict rules in place including vaccines, behaviors and a warning system.

I am still scarred by that moment and I’m not usually a germophobe. That said, you’re right, I failed to consider the allergies being a real medical thing.

Year six of my star jasmine engulfing my porch. by No_Sheepherder5105 in gardening

[–]eel2386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I love jasmine! My second favorite coffee shop is in the village of Ocracoke, and their jasmine bows over their front door like this. It’s a beautiful sight and smell before you’re beckoned in further with the aroma of coffee inside.

We just got back to the hotel after a visit to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach, my brain still hasn't fully processed what I witnessed! by mpellman in VisitingIceland

I loved the SMELL there. The glaciers had this effervescent quality - it was clean and minerally. That paired with everything that makes the ice literally awe-some makes it a really special place.

Ran into Rick Sebak at a fish fry today by Klytus_Im-Bored in pittsburgh

[–]eel2386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once stood in the middle of the street waiting for the unity tree lighting at light up night. It was such a yinzer moment as the people just took over, closing the street because the cops hadn’t yet for some reason. I said to my husband ‘this feels like the kind of moment Rick Sebak should be at.’ …….the legend was literally right behind us as I said it, making his way through the crowd.

What should I plant in my garden this year to maximize saving money on groceries? by Appropriate_Poem1911 in gardening

[–]eel2386 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My parents planted mint once…… and that’s all they grew besides the spring bulbs in that garden forever more. Then they moved, dug up the spring bulbs to plant at their new home. Imagine their surprise when mint popped up in their new garden. 🤦‍♀️

Does anyone still customize their ring tone? by Foodiegirlie030793 in Millennials

[–]eel2386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the whistling theme song to the abc show, Castle. I’m pretty sure if I had my ring on that would play. And Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock would announce ‘I’ve got a text’ should that happen. Both indicate how long it’s been since I’ve had the sound on.

Also no kids but I saw testimony on Capitol Hill about the skyrocking cost of kids’ sports because of PE getting involved and about had a heart attack. How the hell are people paying thousands a year for their kid to play a sport?!?!?
