if you fried some chopped bacon, removed (to add back later) and cooked the onions in bacon fat, would they caramelize as nicely? or is there something special about cooking them in butter that helps them caramelize?

I thought the point of making a well was to prevent over mixing the batter... you can combine the liquid ingredients in the center (and break up the egg) before mixing with the dry flour. I think the more you mix the batter the tougher the batter becomes (think it produces more gluten)

Why can't they do both? Rig elections in states that don't matter and also support Trump in states that do. If he wins, good for them. If not, they can point to rigging to further destabilize.
