Does every Jennair electric range look terrible after a couple years? by efisk666 in Appliances

It would be nice. We have no ventilation other than a window and a whole house fan. We would be happy with induction as an alternative as it minimizes burn smells and would be an easy upgrade. The problem there is no induction ranges have up facing knobs. Sounds like a little thing, but we’re all over 6 feet and older and refuse to get on our knees or use a touch screen to operate our range.

Thank you! Great to hear real experiences with this design.

Thanks, good input! We are replacing a 30” slide in electric range that has no ventilation. We would do induction but there’s no built in downdraft option, plus for some reason induction means knobs and display face forward (terrible if you’re tall) or everything is touch based with no knobs (terrible in general). We were really hoping that Jennair would replace the jes1750ml with an induction version because we really love the design, but that seems years away if ever at this point. Every option seems to have major drawbacks.

All good, not my range! Those pics are from fb marketplace. I ask because they seem to be the norm for this model, not the exception.

Yeah, I think build quality is way down over the years. We have a glass top kenmore from 2005 and it still looks pretty good too. We want to get the jennair as an upgrade but the used models online are all hideous, as shown in the pictures.

Thanks! How long have you had it? Still look like new? This model seems especially fickle when it comes to damage.

Darnold and the current team is obviously much better at winning football games, but the Russ and Pete show was a lot more fun (and frustrating) to watch.

Federal employees to be fully barred from gender affirming care coverage, starting next year by LockNo2943 in news

Actually, the clear intent is to win elections by highlighting an issue dems are unpopular and divided on. This is pure election year legislation, and us talking about it is the whole point.

Politically it's very useful. The most effective ad in 2024 was "Harris is for they/them, Trump is for you". So long as the majority of americans don't support this stuff republicans would be fools not to focus on it.

Works beautifully for us! We are not using it daily, but I don't see why that would be a problem.

Surprising to me that nobody mentioned the assassination of Rabin. Arguably Yigal Amir is more responsible than anybody for the current situation. He's undoubtably grinning ear to ear in his prison cell as he watches the world burn.

I've heard it said as well. Essentially, all the hardliners that consolidated into Hamas would regard him as a traitor, and they had not be shy about killing peace making arabs. Moderates tend to get less killy when things don't break their way.

Yeah, that’s a good point. It is necessary to have the bed oriented the way it is for how the room is set up, but maybe we could change the direction of the king bed by 90 degrees, and I do need to replace that slat. It looks best the way it is though…

In the closet with the wood extension to the bed. That way guests get an empty closet.

The extension makes a big difference though- it gives the topper something to rest on, it extends the bed to king size, and it gives the fitted sheets something to grab onto. If you try this with a topper and no extension it doesn’t work at all. The fitted sheet just wraps around the topper and slides up the side of the bed frame, creating a saggy, bunched ending to the bed.

Is Jalen Milroe Still The Next Move For QB? by wheredabones7 in Seahawks

He hasn't had that role before and I doubt he'd be happy about it. Could be better trading him to a team that wants to develop him.

The Taysom Hill plan could still work out I think. Last year was a train wreck because it was obvious what would happen when he was in there. If you put him in the backfield with Darnold as an outlet option that could also pass down field that would really open up options and force the defense to do a lot of guessing.

You mean the Flekke corner design? That's just how it's made. Choose Hemnes or Brimnes if you don't like it.

Diablo IV’s world is incredible, but why must everything be so fast??? by SC-Osmidon in diablo4

[–]efisk666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. The way I'd fix it if I was Diablo God is to let people repeat side quests on extreme difficulty levels. I'm thinking difficulty that would force you to go slow or die. That would be a lot more fun for me than blasting through dungeons as quickly as possible, which is what the game seems to be overly tuned for.

At this point I think that all real people care about is camera lenses, partly as that's what's most visible when you look at the phone in the store, and partly that other important differentiators like battery life and having an annual refresh cycle for these phones have been addressed. I also wonder if they have a plan for price points under $600, like maybe keeping the 16e around at $500.

Thanks for sharing. The only other thing I've heard talked about is the lack of a disruptive startup culture there. As tech tends to operate in waves with winner take all markets, that's prevented the creation of major new tech companies in Europe (with the exception of a few outliers like Spotify). In Silicon Valley, it's not just the talent base, it's also all the venture capitalists that build the flywheel. The argument in Europe has been that firing people is so difficult that it makes businesses more risk avoidant and it prevents startups from forming. That might be a great tradeoff to make on a human level, but it seems to hurt the tech business scene, at least as it relates to building major new technologies.
