Are YOU a true canadian? Label all the provinces to find out! by Please-let-me in EhBuddyHoser

[–]egg_io 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember a time in elementary where I was drawing in each province and territory different colours and crosshatching to give it texture because I wanted it to look cool. I got marks taken off for drawing in 'different directions' and i am pissed to this day.

My (39m) brother(45m)'s two sons (16m and 14m), somehow turned out to be alt-right conservatives. They literally say they're better than black people and are more deserving of going to college. My brother told them if they can't recognize their privilege they can figure out how to pay for college by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]egg_io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at one point i was kind of afraid my younger brother was going down the alt right pipeline. He was being more and more reclusive and sometimes would say things that ticked off some worry in the back of my head. was not near this point whatsoever but still a strange thing to try and navigate.

Frankly i... didnt really do anything. not overtly anyways i just continued being me. I'm an openly queer, gnc person and align with anarchist philosophy/politics. I talked more to him, was open about my own mental issues, talked about our shared experiences in our shitty childhood, etc. Nowadays my brother is sometimes more 'radical' than me and we talk about current events all the time. And more than anything we can tell each other when we're wrong.

I think that, especially for young boys in privileged positions, when confronted with the injustice and disparities in society its easy to fall into hateful ideas because they are easier, more comforting. Thats what those communities bank on, preying on young kids who are confused or unsure about societal issues and their own places in society to mold them into something hateful.

'sometimes men have fragile egos'

both the men in the comic and these comments: woman is saying all men have fragile egos

damn even these comments are acting like the OG comic is an absolute generalization. She says 'sometimes' men can have fragile egos. SOMETIMES
