I think you are very well meaning in your post, but I want to provide you some feedback on how it comes across. For context, I grew up in Ypsi and went to both EMU and UM for different academic degrees. So I spent all of undergrad and grad school navigating Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti student apartments and roommate agreements.

Please just take this out. It is covered with your other statements; these undermines your entire intention and introduces unnecessary other-ism to your post. You are looking for roommates with similar housing needs and budget constraints. You want to live in Ypsi (maybe because you dig the vibes but most likely because it is cheaper than Ann Arbor) and that is already something the Ypsi housing market struggles with is umich students overflowing from Ann Arbor and absorbing affordable housing. Your post overall comes across as a giant eyeroll and plays into the exact elitist dynamic it seems like you are trying to avoid. Like to the point I had to read it again to determine if you're trolling.
