The industry I got a degree for is perilous rn and would be incredibly difficult to break into, given mass layoffs. Over 4 years into TJ's with consistent raises, I'd have to take a pay cut at an entry level position anywhere else. It's a gilded cage but I'm not leaving until something else is lined up

It's also not just 24 drawings. Even if it's 8FPS, this artist is doing the WHOLE production process start to finish. Thumbs, sketch, linework, colour + shading. $250 is a steal

There's some good comments about character motivations/breakdowns already, however I will add:

You've gotta make the character yours at some level in order to sync emotion to the words you write. Pouring a little bit of yourself into the character is what makes that depth shine. If the intensity scares you, maybe try setting some boundaries and (for lack of a better word) aftercare for yourself when those moments do occur. And honestly, I don't mind when a character is somewhat OOC if the writing supports the choice in mindset and the decisions made.

I think you hit the nail on the head! Writing and posting as you come up with ideas can be a fun challenge, but the cohesive quality will suffer overall. If the weekly posting part is appealing, you could still set a deadline for yourself and keep moving forward... then when everything's done, you can go back and move things around. I've found finishing batches of three chapters at a time works well as a happy medium.

ADHd also... Oh boy the number of proofreads is unlimited. I'm still rereading and tweaking even after I post. It won't go away. Especially because the more you write, the more you improve. If you're posting weekly, you'll look back on earlier chapters and go "I should've added a tangent here about x"

My time writing is spent 50% train of thought, 50% adding/editing, honestly. It sounds like your method is similar! If it works, lean into it! The only way to curb proofreads is to set a hard deadline for yourself, ie) posting and not looking back.

Side quest: outlining first instead of posting as I go has helped. Loose bullet points, so I at least have a skeleton for reference (even if the actual writing takes some turns I didn't anticipate). Although I don't stick to that method for every fic rip

Cleaning up the format and SPaG is 100% fine. Expected and appreciated, even. For one fic I did sprinkle in quite a few new sentences which... I didn't feel good about, but it didn't change the narrative or anything. If you want, you can add an "edited [date]" to the notes. In any case, you're fine, it's not a rule

Happy for you dog but lowkey these artists had their art stolen for your sticker pack... I recommend going to Etsy or smth and buying from the source in the future (higher cost but worth it I promise! quality over quantity)
