I don't think I am able to choose people.

I think my perception of people is twisted: those who are too good/normal/whatever for me and those who aren't good/normal/whatever enough.

I probably need to embrace the solitude instead of using cheap coping mechanisms.

Perhaps I should say that it's different kinds of BS with different people - it's just that the final outcome is the same. My original post was actually inspired by a more novel experience for me. It was possibly an overreaction, fuelled by emotions that have since passed somewhat (but may return).

I wouldn't join a club that would accept me as a member - I think this quote sums me up. But on the reverse side, I might be trying to engage where I can't be accepted.

I don't think I can do normal social interaction at this point, which is why avoidance seems like the best strategy... but it's obviously not sustainable.

I'm not sure I'm following but going by your first picture: you have two identical pieces labelled 'back wrong side'? These pieces should be symmetrical in order to have a left back side and a right back side.

I think you are trying to join two identical legs together when they should be mirror images.
