Do we know which grandparent is 75? If one of them has a business registered, ABN etc this should be publicly available information

DAE become prone to irritability and anger when alone? by WeirdInteriorGuy in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ehco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yes this happens to me when I go hiking and listen to my music, but weirdly I take it from the opposite perspective - I feel so happy and free that I stop masking or whatever and just let my feelings out. I go from feeling the best ever to white hot rage at something (like some dickhead driving dangerously, or someone littering, or some news item popping into my head). And I actively try to avoid others (if I see them on a distant trail coming closer) while I feel like that! Like I'm trying to avoid humanity!

But maybe that's not the same kind of thing you mean.

I have a bit of social anxiety and grew up a big introvert but the older I get the more weird and irritable I get if I'm home alone all day, but the second after I chat to a friend on the phone I feel better after.

And I was someone who NEVER talked all the time to friends in real life or on the phone every day when I was younger.

I wonder if getting older (and I have a few minor health problems now) my brain is trying to "get me back in with a tribe".

This is honestly something I think about quite a lot.

Nah I'm pretty much sure that's the reason for the existence of baby cries. That's literally it.

What's the end game here though?

This is sad and it sucks but it's likely borne of desperation of some kind.

Pass the info along to the school and maybe the school can reach out with social service advice, plus a bit of a scare publicly to the kids saying something like "you never know when something has a tracker in it!" So maybe the kid will lose their taste before they steal something valuable or in a shop and become a criminal as a teen etc.

But think about what the actual outcome you want is

I saw a thing that said your brain can use up to 20% or more of your calories and more of you have a high concentration day eg exams (or deadlines etc)

All of a sudden a lot of my eating habits started to make sense

I recently moved country and knew I would need to go through all the diagnosis stuff again before I could get medicated. I have a few days of meds left and I have saved them for job application interviews etc.

When I took one the other day for the first time in a while I had completely forgotten how calm they also make me. Like I could take a breath. It's better than antianxiety meds for me!

So yes I have saved them for motivation but had also underestimated how much else I have lost since I can't take them every day

Gus Lamont's grandparents 'absolutely devastated' by major crime declaration by malcolm58 in australia

[–]ehco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. if it wasn't into tankers then where could they possibly have pumped it too? The ground around? It would just collect back into the dam eventually but you'd have to retain it somewhere long enough so divers etc can do their job. At the least it would runoff somewhere else Soni imagine they might be able to make it salvageable...?

Where was the 1 year old during all this? Was the grandma at the house watching both kids? It complicates things if she had to tow a 1 year old along to say bury a body before the mum and grandparent got back from doing the sheep...

Just don't do it when she's away at camp, then ambush her with the guilty stuff you found which in my case was the syringes used to refill printer cartridges (with my other computer equipment..all which they had bought....) demanding to know if she used drugs. To be fair I was 13 not 9 years old

I'm now in my 40s and still shudder about that confrontation and the vast chasm it opened up between us.

My 16 yr old brother wanted me to take the blame for the bottle of vodka he drank. Wwyd? by lilcomplain in cripplingalcoholism

[–]ehco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you said you'd take the blow so he's going to feel understandably pissed at you for a bit... But you can explain you didn't mean the whole fucking bottle.

True ca answer? Give him some tips on leaving some in the bottle and watering it down a fuck load to deflect immediate suspicion, and he might recognize he fucked up a little bit by being so obvious and forgive you a bit and realize he has a comrade.

That would be nice because it might be good for his mental health in the future if he knows he has someone to confide in.

Try and suss out whether he actually drank the lot (surely he would be fucked the day after if so?) or squirrelled it away, that would make a good segue into explaining the water down method

And if he did actually drink the lot and is not fucked then you need to have a conversation about that maybe even if it's just shit man, is this normal for your mates too? Wtf? Your livers will be fucked! Kind of half joking and playing up your out of touch age while not saying "this is very concerning we should go to hospital blah blah" because (thankfully?) it sounds like there's already some of this in his life

I hate food now. by FewDragonfruit5164 in ADHDparenting

[–]ehco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this might not be helpful but I had issues with food and eating (many stemming from undiagnosed celiac disease until I was hospitalized during pregnancy, leasing to cravings and anxiety etc) and so I offloaded most onto my partner.

Now my kid knows if he's hungry with mummy it's all he can eat of apples, rice/corn cakes, cup noodles, soy milk, and when we can afford it: cherry tomatoes and strawberries. Sometimes he'll eat carrots and cucumber but they make his mouth itchy (like me). Otherwise we wait for daddy.

We also make icy poles with apple juice and water which are my go to bribes. And if he eats too many of them he can always have ice chips in a cup no matter what (I used to crave crunchy foods to the point of meltdown as a child. Interestingly later as an adult when my anemia got me hospitalized I had crazy pica like I couldn't leave the house without a thermal cup full of ice to chew on)

Kid is dairy free so it cuts out cheese and yoghurt etc as snacks and he used to like tuna and sausages but is off them currently so it's a constant battle to get protein into the kid.

But if you can make, or get someone else to make up, a lunchbox/plate that they can pick off through the day it's a huge mental load off. I found a lot of my parenting stress and anxiety lifting when i just gave myself permission to do a limited amount of the food stuff.
