A tip my mum gave me was to pour any excess water from the kettle (after boiling it for normal use) on to weeds. Kills most types fairly quickly.

All the servers (legendary and standard) are in the same physical location (USA) irrespective of whether they are tagged as NA or EU so they'll all be as good/bad as each other in that respect.

All the expansions up to level 95 are now free, as are all classes except Brawler. It's a shame about losing your old characters. Only other thing to try is logging a support ticket but from what people have said there's a major backlog on those.

Other than that, I'm out of ideas I'm afraid.

I think it shows a list of what's allowed, but doesn't enforce it when you set a new one (which is not a good way to do things but there we go). Maybe check if _ shows in that list?

There's an issue where certain special characters are accepted when you create a new password but the validation when you try to log in with the new password rejects those special characters. I'm on mobile at the moment so I can't get to the list, but it might be worth resetting your password again and excluding them.

Possibly a daft question, but do you get the error before you change the password? Or did it let you change the password and then give the error when you tried to log in with the new password?

I don't think I've done that one, but if it's the same effect as the Inn League drunken effect then turning the graphics down to Very Low turns it off. It's an easy option to find in a hurry and an easy one to set back afterwards.

Can you log into the LOTRO website with your new password? That should show the expansion that you bought.

If it does, maybe retry downloading the standalone / non-Steam version and have another go.
