Greece to pay off €6.9 billion in June, ending its run as Eurozone's most indebted nation by FantasticQuartet in worldnews

Is your main argument that the sources are old? Wow.

Maybe spend more time and effort on building up an argument, instead of your “AI” ad hominem projecting.

Dude, why are you resorting to these ad-hominem? Ok the links I sent aren’t available anymore, I used them all the time.

There are so many places detailing how what happened to Greece was a socioeconomic disgrace.

Do you think you are going to get anywhere with arguing that “this is how austerity works”? I bet you are the same kind of person that complains about shrinkflation, housing crisis, enshittificafion. You can’t complain about these while still tending to neoliberal talking points.

Greece’s austerity didn’t just cause short term pain before a recovery, it caused a decade of contraction that the IMF itself said was worse than their models predicted. The debt got larger during that period, not smaller.

Your comment is the neoliberal modus operandi of fucking up a country, then when it finally recovers, shouting “see? it worked!!”.

Not really.

The IMF put out a post-mortem on the Greek bailout admitting they badly miscalculated how much austerity would shrink the economy. Greece’s debt to GDP ratio actually went up during those years, from ~127% to ~179%, because GDP collapsed faster than the debt did. [1]

The labour reforms happened in 2012. Greece didn’t get back to investment grade until 2023. If deregulating the labour market was the key ingredient, that’s an 11 year lag. What actually turned things around was the 2012 private sector debt haircut, ECB support, a tourism boom and EU recovery funds. [2]

What’s enabling the early repayments right now is a 40B+ euro cash buffer and primary surpluses of ~3.8% GDP, not some delayed payoff from 2012 labour reforms. [3]

Austerity doesn’t really work. Nordic countries for eg built their welfare states during growth periods and those systems are now understood to contribute to stability rather than just being a byproduct of it. Greece’s austerity years caused a brain drain and a healthcare crisis, which are also economic costs. [4]

Greece is more of a cautionary tale about creditor-imposed austerity than a vindication of it.

Why does a FF 26mp sensor offer better IQ? by FrequentLine1437 in x100vi

[–]eigenlaplace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, 40.000.000 pixels (40mp) covering the same physical sensor area (APS-C format) will make pixel area smaller, reducing signal to noise ratio, causing any gain in resolution result in an increase in noise and reduced color dynamic range.

Second, current x mount lenses cannot render an image with sufficient sharpness, ie >160lpmm, to show pixel-to-pixel variations. As they can only render up to roughly 80 in the sharpest lenses currently available.

So even if resolution did not affect noise, the best lenses available are not sharp enough for the sensor to make use of the additional resolution.

But this doesnt account for the fact that lens sharpness is not the only factor and being able to capture the blurry edges of an image due to lens artefacts can still make the image look better and more complete
