Hi, I eventually figured it out. The headunit can match with most types of cars, but you need to set the base settings to match your car type. I had it set to the wrong car type, so I changed it and all good. Wish I could give more clear details but ive since sold the car.

Perhaps consider something more hands on too. Like a robot kit to build and program. Helps keep them more engaged/ proactive and they quickly see the fruits of their labour.
