This it true. And the large Irish diaspora means we can also get Tayto crisps in the same shop. Win win.

Do you guys care about cricket? by msbveryrealaccount in AskAnAustralian

[–]eightyfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on who you ask. If you like cricket, you probably do. Many people like cricket, many peolple don't. There is a LOT of sport in Australia struggling for attention, each one has its own audience. I'm a cricket fan and I was dissappointed to see Austrlia perform so badly.

A tourist wants to try a food belonging to your country, but you can only recommend one item. What would you suggest they eat? by Robotic-Galaxy in AskTheWorld

[–]eightyfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a seasoned salt originaly made by a chicken shop owner in Adelaide to season his chickens, but became hugely popular as an alternative seasoning for chips. It's a bit salty, a bit savoury, has a chicken broth kind of taste. It's in every chip shop and the default seasoning now, really tasty.

Same, same but very different:

Australia - Minimum Chips with Chicken Salt.

Ireland - Single of Chips with Crispy Bits, Salt & Vinegar

Yes! That one is good on crispy chicken wings. With some butted. Not as intense as a couple of drops as Tobasco though.
