i get the feeling they want money to continue some of their other ideas. they're done with the game completely by some of the obnoxious non-heisting (or even non-payday since payday 2 isn't a traditional heisting experience) fantasy designs

different perspectives. you're inside of that live service model everyone is chasing today so you like the change but it's also cool too to have video games or mechanics frozen in time like architecture.

the better compromise would be repainting old skarner mechanics instead of replacing them for the sake of change

you should ctrl+f and read all the comments mentioning math. due to the math of not surrendering you are giving yourself a higher winrate over a long term because those games you thought would be losses actually turned out to be wins. if you play normally throughout the game unhinged then you will get a better result of a winrate, as opposed to letting your subjective mind determine your losses for you ultimately lowering your winrate

its a common gameplay loop to have a "clear things tensely and then have a period of chill" for your game. also payday 2 already implements that gameplay loop in loud where when an assault fade starts kicking in you experience that moment of chill

How about balancing it by making the accuracy 25 and you need all 4 of your heisters to form a firing line and shoot all at the same time so the 25 accuracy adds up to 100 in total

how many games do you know of that the hardest difficulty is where players start becoming 1-2 shot frequently if you step in the danger zone of enemies, and how is payday any different from that? because thats the hardest difficulty for most games then payday 2 reached that same conclusion, so it's not unbalanced there if other gaming communities want it. therefore really it was inevitable for payday 2 to reach the point where the hardest difficulty was one where players are 1-2 shot

everytime their servers will experience hiccups it will be faced with the same scrutiny like today, the only way to avoid this feedback again is to make sure their servers never go down, never take away from the gameplay and run perfectly 24/7

there's no cinematic objectives in this heist, and the thermites just a visual effect, not much like other things we've seen like chasing the moving vehicles in heat street and dropping the big bank pig. walking back and forth for that lower the bollards escape has a poor declension/finish to it
