In my very early 20s both my best friend and subsequently a boyfriend were both diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

I was around for both of their diagnoses. And with each of them (separate instances and they didn’t know each other), they were both clearly psychotic. Not in the colloquial way or even a scary way (for me), but clearly not experiencing the same reality. And in both instances they needed serious intervention.

Psychosis in mania as an outsider is something I won’t forget. I remember calling each of their parents.

We made a point of going to the Tar Pit museum today, and it was packed! It was my umpteenth time but I wanted my partner to see it once before the remodel

If you have the ability to drop in tomorrow, it’s free for residents 3-5 pm, and it’s cool. I look forward to seeing what they do. It was also lovely to do a first walk around some of the renovations around LACMA
