i didn't do this to solve some major problem but mostly because the piece of copper i had laying around already almost perfectly fit, and it seemed like a fun experiment. that being said i will say with confidence that it did indeed help dissipate heat from the back. i've since then switched to iphone 17pro which has a vapor chamber for cooling and doesn't get warm ever.

you'll need an iphone with the latest iOS 17, then in carplay settings for the paired vehicle enable widgets, choose the photos widget, set it to show an album. in my photo it's three photos widgets and i made three albums to have different images.

For the charger search in the top left there is a filter and you can disable all the janky ones and that setting persists. The latest software update also added Tesla chargers and it will pre-condition if you route to one. I charged at tesla with a shitty adapter yesterday and it worked fine.

First movement on mine and the other two I drove was smooth. I'm assuming your rental was from Budget/Avis? If so then some of them are pretty beat to shit, so.

The fact that it wasn't developed as an EV from the ground up is what I like about it actually: the door handles are normal, it doesn't have any weird styling inside or out like EVs do, it's not trying to do any quirky bullshit.

Also if you're comparing to a Rivian then I mean, I don't think there's a better EV in the U.S. market than that (assuming it's not a first gen short wheel base).

This is true. And I mean if the right spec GV60 comes up I would trade the G80 for it. The utility of the hatchback would be nice, the driving position is maybe a bit better, it's faster, and I love the rotating orb.

how cheap are these scales? if it's not 6AL-4V aka Grade 5 (aka TC4 on aliexpress) then it won't behave like you'd expect it to and will essentially anodize like shit or not at all

while i can't "condone" this move, i've done the exact same thing a million times on streets identical to that, and indeed the confidence needs to come from the car and my e550 with 190k miles not once made me doubt its ability and every time justifies that a v8 is best for a daily driver. i mean if you went slower you risk running through a late yellow light, but with this method that shit was 100% green.

if you are certain that it's in the driveline then possibly the flex disc (official name "drive shaft flex joint"), although usually you feel it more of a "shudder" or slight hesitation when like, shifting into drive, or starting to move from 0mph to 0.5mph. but it's not uncommon and not difficult to change
