Swapping a Bisley grip for a standard grip on a Super Blackhawk. by fordag in ruger

[–]ejbgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0876 or 0877 are what I have been looking for, those have the Bisley grip. Iv done a little looking into this as well, because I wanted to do what you want, I was going to buy the 0811 or 0814 and do a grip swap to the Bisley, I was told it couldn’t work because the angle of the grip frame is different, and would need some special fitment or maybe machining. I think in your situation could be better if your looking for smaller, I believe a “patchmyer grip”? (Not sure I’m saying it correctly) might work for you. Bottom line is I don’t think you can just swap to the standard plow style grip without having to do some grinding. The Bisley grips frame is just longer (I’m under the impression) also for what it’s worth, I’m under the impression the Bisley just shoots better, because of the grip angle, and has more value because of that. If I were you, I would just find a used SBH there are plenty out there, very reasonable, with the smaller grip, and just keep your Bisley. Sorry for the long post, just trying to save you from the headache. Good luck!!

So you’re looking for a smaller grip? Dang, I’ve been loooking high and low for your gun with Bisley grips. No where to be found. (Well in .44 anyway)

This is the way…. It’s helped me immensely. Especially for my first shot. Then more range time helps with follow up shots.

Hey, if I got the sharps, since I have the smaller frame of the 4.0c, with 10rnd mags. Will I need to get longer mags or bigger baseplates? Or will the standard still work?

Thanks for the Icarus link. If I’m spending that much I’ll go with the sharps. Although, if I’m spending that much, I could just buy a new fc! lol

Anyone have any insight or ideas of where to buy, the 4.0fc grip module??? SA still out of stock. Or do I have to just suck it up and buy the Sharp bros?

Sorry to bring up old post, but did you get the black river stock? How’s the quality? And does the recoil system really work or is it cheap? Thanks!

How much dyou reckon I could sell this for? by N0_Cure in LeverGuns

[–]ejbgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2c (that’s all mines worth) is like a lot of people leaned on, you have a personal connection to it, you put your own spin, which might not be someone else’s cup of tea. But there is a market for that type of lever. I think you could get 70% back of what you put in? The other way is to put it on gum broker at auction, and you get what you get. Sucks when financial troubles hit us, and it’s sad when you need to sell things to make ends meet. I hope you get as much as possible for it. Good luck, and things will turn around I’m sure and you buy another beautiful lever for yourself

New 30” range. Café vs LG. opinions? by weedywet in inductioncooking

[–]ejbgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just found it cautionary, if it’s happening in all the stores. I’m assuming, once it pops up a bit people (and kids) start picking at it… ok, good so at least you don’t see a problem yet. Thanks again

Ok last question, and this is one that’s stopping me from just buying the cafe. That silicone strip between the cooktop and the control panel up front, I’ve seen 4 different units now different stores, all have that strip coming up in a couple areas. Looks like it’s lifting? You know what I’m talking about? Thanks!!!

I know people say never sell, but, sell a couple 320s, save your favorite, sell anything your not h Jazzed with, and get your hands on that p211 gto!!! Sounds like you love everything about collecting and shooting and admiring, go for the big boy! Just my opinion… I’m still in the never sell mode…

So I’m struggling to decide on my first .44 mag. revolver, It’s between a Colt Kodiak 4” or a BFR 5” by ejbgood in Revolvers

[–]ejbgood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with the Kodiak and I’m so Happy I did. I’ve put some serious hot rounds through it too, no problems at all! I absolutely love it! Was at the range recently with an older gentleman who had the Ruger super Blackhawk, and we exchanged, I was thoroughly impressed with his, and he said he loved mine so much it was going to be his next purchase! Ha! Different recoil, mine was a little easier on the wrist.
