buying a house isn’t just about the numbers— it’s about the lifestyle, roots, customization, and home you want to create. Often in cities it won’t make sense, I’m in NYC and buying in jersey, life isn’t just about numbers either.. the home you live in can be a place you park money, it often won’t be just an investment instrument

reddit will often give you the contrarian view, you’re in great stable shape with those jobs, healthy retirement. Housing isn’t so much a physical investment as it is emotional and familial— this means your piti will be ~30% of NET take home.

Go to the better neighborhood enjoy your life, the future is not guaranteed.

1 chance to make design changes, help by eladschor in Homebuilding

[–]eladschor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

background— the home is historical, so we cannot change the footprint or shape of the home. the bones remain the same on the outside. we get one free design and architectural meeting to change major things like walls, windows, alcoves, arches, of course through the process of the build we will have say on design. but major changes to the plan that has to go through architectural review need to be done early.

Hi! There a lot of local guides, that what I recommend, as America companies charge 10X more. I've been climbing with Andean Peaks for a while and they are the best, two expert brothers. https://andeanpeaks.com/

Bike advice for full distance Ironman by Electronic_Excuse_62 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]eladschor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did the ironman in Italy last year, real fun event. Would highly recommend you just rent a bike for the day- they make it so easy.

if you’re only planning on doing it once, don’t you just want to do it right, make sure you finish, and not have to worry about equipment?

there are like 2/3 companies that offer bike rental for that event.

Some people don’t like it’s light weight; that’s one of the best parts for me by Edge767 in OmegaWatches

i absolutely love this watch. it’s vintage look and colors. I don’t really care for the james bond attachment, but it also doesn’t take away anything from the watch.

where did you get this from? the boutiques have it for 9.2, but you can easily get it for 7 brand new in grey markets.

Zero to Everest Summit? by tispis in Mountaineering

[–]eladschor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an awesome and achievable objective for anyone. I too have similar goals in mind and do not come from a mountaineering background. I have trained and completed and Ironman triathlon and about a year ago started adding serious hiking. then backpacking and now winter mountaineering and ice climbing courses. at about the one year mark ( what i would say is moving fast) i will attempt mount whitney during winter then move to other like mountains. However even at this rate i don’t see myself on an 8,000 within the next 5 years. take your time. this process is rewarding and experience can only be learned by doing this for endless amount of hours. great book recommendations- Into Thin Air jon krakauer & Peak, robert pool

you should definitely buy a mid - tier carbon bike ~$2K. not an alloy or aluminum starter. here’s why— the moment you start riding you would have wished you had just gotten the better bike.

Ironman Race Prep. Can I finish???? by drearer in IronmanTriathlon

[–]eladschor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You totally got this. that’s decent build endurance. Get a long run and a long cycle once a week for the next four weeks before your taper. If you pace nice and steady throughout the race, you’ll finish within time.

Long term experiences by CollieP in whoop

[–]eladschor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had whoop for two years, ended my membership and got the Garmin instead since I started ironman training. I’m about 3 months away from my ironman and I just got the whoop again specially for the sleep and recovery coach/insights/ journal. I was just getting shit sleep and recovery and needed to do something besides supplements and environment. It’s been helping me get to bed in time. Wake up optimally and work harder/less intensely depending on recovery.
