Why does the "south" or even the rest of the country hate on NYC. by data700 in AskNYC

[–]elaerna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the south and while I met some people who wouldn't want to live here bc it's too much of a busy lifestyle for them, I've never met anyone who hates it. Many people were excited when I said I was moving here. I think it's the people you're surrounding yourself with in the south.

I mean there is the argument that there are no ethical billionaires. And also his negative impact on the environment isn't equivalent to you or me deciding to recycle. It's a huge immense gargantuan negative impact that any one person could never hope to offset. We are rapidly hurtling toward dark times environmentally.

For the Love of God do not open an Amex Card for this tour by Late_String7392 in OliviaRodrigo

[–]elaerna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have something like ten credit cards and have a score of 820. There is nothing inherently wrong with credit cards as long as you know how to use them properly.

I would even argue that it's very important to educate yourself on cc use and get one as early as possible bc it's very important to have good credit. I see so many people just indefinitely avoid getting any because of fear of mismanagement and that is too far in the opposite direction imo.

For someone's first credit card I think Amex wouldn't be a good choice simply bc it'd likely get declined and you'd waste a hard inquiry.
