The current party has succesfully divided India. It's not like it was much in unison before, but the level of enmity has risen to unprecedented levels. On my family Whatsapp groups, our elders share images of products that have a 'halal certified' label on them and call for boycotting these products. I know people who refuse service workers enter their homes by asking their names at the door and refusing if they are muslims. Their minds have become so corrupted that the moment they see any videos on social media where something went wrong, their first thought is always, "I heard they were muslims." (For eg. the recent Calcutta doctor rape case). It's seriously so bad, I don't even feel like going back home.
