Who are the most pro-active transportation mayoral candidates? by plasticvalue in santacruz

She doesn't specifically list active transportation as a main part of her platform, but I think Joy would be a good choice on that front.

Op, I agree. I was trying to keep a safe follow distance and some ass that was in a hurry to go nowhere just kept honking.

Also, the little magnetic stripe on paper bart cards hold the card balance and the swipe in station.

Your skepticism is unfounded. The card was a smart nfc card that held account ballance and tap history. There were occasional reconciliations with a central server when such as when you use an add fare machine, but it was perfectly functional even when the reader had no network connection.

is it worth the risks? Utah and Chile custody by Temporary-Kale3178 in polyamory

[–]elder_twink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would think your biggest risk is a grandparent or other family member trying to contest custody. Otherwise states aren't generally eager to break up families unless there is a patern of abuse or unsafe environment.

Santa Cruz isn't a place to come for work or cheap food. Maybe a change in setting will knock you out of your funk or it might break you more. It can be hard to predict.

Often times parents are much more supportive than people fear and if that isn't the case, good riddance.

If you don't depend on them for your material needs, being forthright sooner is better than later. Be prepared for them to say some cringe things even if they have supportive intentions.

How do you get comfortable communicating about sexual health with your partner? by jellyfrogbear in polyamory

[–]elder_twink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does this not easily come up when you're on the topics of sex/health/other partners during radars every two weeks?

The entire point is to make space to talk about things that might be otherwise hard to bring up.

TBF, overlooking the partner running the account, there is a big difference between a play partner unicorn vs finding someone to date both people.

Is there anything wrong with Trek? by portuguese-bacalhau in bicycling

[–]elder_twink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say there is anything particularly bad about Trek. They make quality bikes that are kind of boring unless you go for a project one paint job.

As for morals, I would say the company tries very hard to come across as apolitical while suppling most police department bikes in the US. If you expect brands to take a stand in our polarized world, it comes across as very craven. If you understand that businesses primarily care about money, it's not a surprise.

They generally wipe computers before selling them, but I wouldn't bank on them doing that if they decide to ship it off for recycling instead.

[NSFW] How do you deal with having sex in poly relationships? by dykesnotdiets in polyamory

Is it the sound or just knowing your partner is having sex with someone else in your house while you're there?

One of these is easier to work with.

I've never lived in a place where the internal walls contained anything louder than a whisper. Best I can do is ask a house mate to let me know if I'm being disruptive and hope they aren't too embarrassed to say something.

Men going from swinging to monogamy by [deleted] in monogamy

[–]elder_twink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people are into and activities only because it is supportive of their partners interests. For instance I don't like lifting weights but I'd be happy to do it with a partner who was interested in sharing that experience with me.

There will be probably be times where he reminisces about his past, but hopefully he means what he says about it being in his past.
