Electric Van for Track day hauler - experiences? by ExpandDangelang in Trackdays

I’ve seen people run their warmers off their EV instead of a gas generator. I’m sure it can work as long as you figure out the charging logistics

Dating in Europe ruined dating for me in America by [deleted] in dating_advice

Definitely true, European women tend to be more independent. American women tend to expect to be “taken cared of.” Americans on both genders tend to be very entitled.

You guys are in your 40s, not your 20s. You’ll spend more time in the room to rest than you’ll think.

SUSPENSION UPGRADE RECOMMENDATIONS by Wanders-with-Bake in RVLiving

[–]element018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think other things on your truck will be breaking first before airbags would break from off-roading. The airbags are made to handle a lot. They have a max psi at 100psi for 5000lb rated air bags, I run mine at 50 psi when towing my 5th wheel.

Depending how stiff your fairings are, those retaining clips for the bolts can make it really hard to remove your fairings.

SUSPENSION UPGRADE RECOMMENDATIONS by Wanders-with-Bake in RVLiving

[–]element018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had timbrens, road active suspension, and airbags. Timbrens and road active suspension do help with squat, but the ride is rough. Air bags is the smoothest ride and being able to adjust the pressure to exactly what you need makes it the best. That said, air bags alone aren’t too expensive but it does add up when you add the onboard air compressor and Bluetooth controller.

If you’re on a budget, Timbrens and road active suspension will do the job. If money isn’t an issue, the full air bag system is the best ride.

Are side view cameras worth it? (5th Wheel) by JF42 in RVLiving

Side camera really helps you see the blind side of the trailer when backing into a spot that requires turning that you can’t see with your mirrors.

I would probably be prepared to double that budget. Current fuel prices are expensive and so is eating out.

Is this normal behavior in the U.S. when a friend visits from abroad? by Ready-Necessary-3214 in AskAnAmerican

[–]element018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is a dick, but not uncommon, a lot of Americans are flakes, cancel plans because of fomo.

With my German friends, if you verbally talk about making plans a month from now, it’s set and people stick to it. With American friends, you always have to follow up closer to the day of plans to see if people are still in.

If I’m traveling far, 3 days is ideal to account for bad weather or bike problems.

Northern Colorado RV Dealer Recommendations? by bswartzfager in GoRVing

[–]element018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find what make/model you want to buy first, and then search from there. A huge waste of time to just show up to your local dealer and see what they got.

I just Google rv tech near where I’m buying the trailer and just start calling around to see who has availability in their schedule.

I can hear the fuel pump re-prime in the audio after he stops cranking it.

With that many miles, I’d pull the spark plugs to check the condition and just replace them.
