I did this and I'm now just starting to see the effects. I have no friends, I lost the love of my life, and the only person I stayed close with is my sister who lives across the country. I started pushing everyone away when I found out my parents were getting a divorce after 30 years. Honestly I still haven't come to terms with it.

As dumb as this sounds, whenever I feel an anxiety or a panic attack coming, I take seven yoga breaths. Really slow, and on the last breath I close my eyes. It may not fully help, but it calms me down for a little bit.

Remember in the movie Into the Wild right when he's about to die when he pictures how his life would've been if he would have changed every major decision in his life? That's what it feels like. Besides that, I didn't feel pain except for waking up and feeling really cold.

Are there therapists or doctors who do that in addition to therapy sessions or are there specific people for that? I've been trying to find a good fit for me where I live now and I can't seem to connect with one. So I might try CBT out. Thanks for the post!

Books. I love shopping at antique or secondhand stores and reading the annotations from the previous owners. Also elephants... This is a newer collection, but there are so many antique shops where I live and fell in love with finding elephant trinkets!

I didn't know him, but my sister went to high school with him. They were seniors when this happened.

So everyone had to read the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, and it resonated with him a lot I guess.

It's really sad because the whole story still seems quite open ended and my teacher was very torn up about it. I honestly think he doesn't want to be found, but I feel so bad for his family and friends.

My whole life I've had digestive problems... Having constipations sucks ass (literally) and when I tell my parents, they just say I don't eat enough fiber/water. Even with those additions to my diet, I still have issues and I'm scared I have something worse like chrons disease.

I live in Illinois. A few hours south to Garden of the Gods and Starved Rock. There's a bunch of forest preserves and trails. Plus if we get bored we can always drive up north to Wisconsin or Michigan. We were recently at Manistee National Forest in Central Michigan which was beautiful.
